Again: Go ahead and do it better instead of just bashing Bono all the time.

It's a complicated situation and a difficutl business. I wish they'd be more successful with that. Organic and ethical clothing is a good thing that many people certainly support, but the fashion has to be fashionable and affordable.

I quote myself because there is a direct correlation between the Louis Vuitton campaign, their 49% stake of Edun and Edun producing cheaply in China - saying they produce ethical clothing, helping African workers to improve their situation.

I also mentioned what I do to engage myself in helping African people. So I actually go ahead and do something. There is no "instead of". Unfortunately I rarely meet heads of states, so my contribution is rather unnoticed.

You seem to agree with Bono's approach, so I'd be interested to know how you see the situation. For a start -
What's your position on the wages Edun pays it's African workers and on another note, the copyright on Aids and Malaria drugs?

Yea, Edun is frankly crap I thought their stuff would be made in Africa - not China like everything else. And when your paying that much too.

Why wouldn't I just go with all the other designer brands who use organic cotton and also don't manufacture in Africa - where's the differentiation, Edun's designs are quite mediocre too.
  3. Edge appeared yesterday on the Stand Up To Cancer (tribute to Patrick Swayze). The performance of Unchained Melody is nothing but incredibly cheesy (and pretty mediocre in my opinion. In fact, it's as mediocre as moving), and Edge contributes with a fairly simple guitar solo, from 4:08 on.

  4. I'm pretty disappointed in Edge's contribution. I thought he'd sing or something, not just get out his sustainer and play a few notes that a novice guitar player could play. Upsetting.

When Edun renewed their website I also noticed that much was now made in china, which dissapointed me a lot. Before it was in mainly South American or African countries. Pity they went this way, I even emailed them why they produce now in china, but never got an answer. Has nothing to do anymore with ethical clothing. Made in china you can see anywhere
