Listened to show two and it's not flawless, Edge misses his cue at times but that is due to the rain I suppose. Great show overall, mainly because of the great atmopshere in Zurich.

Nice but show 2 does have those many flubs, its show 1 that got my attention, that show IS flawless and Amazing...you look exactly like david spade, by the way
  2. Those same flaws and flubs are what make a show special to me. Flawless shows rarely get my attention.

  3. then you miss the culmination of a pure artistic endeavour in a band that usueally plays over 100 shows over 2 years every tour. its not playing the songs as they sound on the album that is special here, its the infusion of playing those songs live and in the moment while not missing out on what truely makes those songs sound exquisite on the album. (there is a variance from the norm in almost every song here) The first Zurich show represents this the best of this leg in my opinion...open your emotions and your ears, not your expectations, because you've probably heard(and seen?) too many U2 shows to get the best performance of each song in one show. This show - Zurich 1 - should be mentioned with the best of the 360 shows, I'm almost taking this personally(not from you of course) because that show rocked me...again, why is it not a better performance than night 2?
  4. I will listen to it and report back. I still hold Barca 1 as the best for mostly the same reasons that you have fell for Zurich 1. I just rarely like a polished and flawless performance, hence my love for Barcelona.

I love it and can't wait for the review, and i'm trying to say its not polished or mechanical in any way, on the contrary its vibrant and live, but some how they also nail everything, i call it the U2ey thing. Like my other favorite band is Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers, now that is a flawless band, EVERY TIME you see them. But some time they have this thing happen, its palpable, where they play everything perfectly but you can also hear every nuance of each band members performance in every song...thats what happens here, they don't play a 7 minute MW, or do shine like stars, they don't do any of it, but its all perfectly done because it really feels like each is in the moment and playing with and off each other. Listen to Adam work his bass as he and The Edge play with each other at the begining of Streets...please.
  6. the show will register with me or it wont and in either instance I can rarely pinpoint why it was awesome or whether it was just ok. The only 360 shows i'm attached to are Barcelona 1, Dyblin 2, Wembley 2, Turin and Zurich 2. I attended 2 of those and felt they were both just 'ok' when I was there. It was only on bootleg that I appreciated them. I'll post a review of Zurich 1 over the weekend.

Ha, its so true, there are so many factors, thanx for doing a little back and forth to help me get my own thoughts out. Happy listening.
    ps
I feel that if someone attends a show then they have no business rating the bootleg for that show, give your critique of the performance sure, but don't rate anything else on that bootleg because its a skewed interpretation of that bootleg...wow i might have to go to the drunk thread, without passing Go and collecting $200 even...yup.

i beg to difer, the second night as the best of all. all the conditions were there for a truly epic night, the HEAVY rain, the audience (on first night it wasn't so excited), the setlist (even without the truncated part of the set), etc ...
u2 rocked the stadium that second night, and everyone has a night to remember thanks to them. i have nearly already forgotten the first night because of that.
and after watching back to back the two shows on video, i won't change my mind, zurich II will stay in my mind as the best night of my 360 tour (Paris tomorrow will be my 13th show).

I agree. There was something very special about night 2.IWF sounded great,as did the debut of Mercy.MOTD is so moving.Night 1 is a solid show, but the bootleg has alot of loud screamers.I couldnt enjoy the gig.Night 2,has maybe the best sounding bootleg of the tour (up there with Frankfort and Vienna) to go along with a great performance. The setlist night 2 is great. The next 2 shows, Munich and Paris, have the same set.As far as downloads,1333 people have downloaded night 2.Compared with 683 for night 1(as of this date).Im sure the sound, of night 2, is part of the reason for so many more downloads. The weather might have contributed to the band not playing UV or Hold Me and WOWY for the first time on the 360 tour.I must say,I have played Zurich 2 nonstop, since I downloaded it.Love the show....
  11. Any chance someone could pm me City of Blinding Lights from Zurich 2? Ill give you my email in a pm. I didn't get it the first two times i downloaded it and without a rapidshare account it takes forever. if not thats ok but i'd appreciate it
