    Indeed. But it was really great during Bad (even if it could be replaced by another snippet as good as it of course).

  3. Even if I missed Bad the second night, I,m still sooooo happy I swopped my tix from the 23rd for the 22nd, I got Bad last year in Amsterdam and now I got Mercy, I,m still smiling since wednesday But it from what i heard last night (thanx Matt ) it was a great concert
    Can't wait for both the bootlegs....
  4. morning, everyone

    so it's the morning after those two nights, and by now I'm up on my two feet for more than 26 hours in a row, finally back home from Belgium... I'm close to fall asleep in an instant, so I just get out what's still left in my brain from last night and then I'm off to bed

    first night: done very quickly. I was still sick from the Zurich/Munich raining and brought the cold with me, some fever as well. Got to my hotel around 6pm after those hours in the traffic jam, but all went nice - until I got a phone call from home that screwed it all up. Sparing you the details, don't belong here, just ruined the day for me. Got to the stadium around 8pm, stood way back in GA. Enjoyed the light show and all, but this show is my one and only gig-to-strike-from-the-list... not because of U2. Was just me and my f***ed up day

    but then, second night : joined the GA queue at 12:15, got # 552 on my hand, spent lovely hours chatting with other fans in the sunshine. Around 16:30 or something everyone stood up, have to say though the queue was nicely subdivided into groups of maybe 300 each, I was in the 2nd group, so there was no squeezing and pushing once the gates were opened at 17:30. I noticed this as a positive thing. And all the scanners worked as well running into GA, my aim was to get into FOS once more as last night's show was going to be my final of the 360 Tour. Made it right into the middle, in front of Bono, maybe 5 meters from main stage. All was perfect met some nice fans from Munich again. Rain started to pour down again soon after I was inside. Amazing thing: the harder it rained (and it really was bad, Zurich II deja-vu, anyone?), the broader the smiles on mostly everyone's faces grew it just adds to the pure joy of being at a U2 show. Bring on rain and the show will be great

    Interpol: I was totally glad I missed them on purpose on night 1..... never heard anything that boring right up there with Glasvegas -- just my personal taste, no offence. I was totally bored, really

    U2..... magnificent. The setlist was as you could have hoped for for a second night's show. We got NYD back!! And Pride, I'd hoped for it. I know some folks here hate it by now, but I love it live. It just has something about it, and... we got it again. Angel of Harlem!!! and... and.... the mighty Bad!! everyone went crazy when we heard the first tunes of that song coming up. Pure love. HMTMKMKM for the win, love it much more than Ultraviolet, so I went all
    The band was in great shape last night. Bono was in best form, appearantly willing to celebrate getting champagne splashed into your face by that man is certainly something to remember for a long time -- in fact, i will never wash my face again, weeee
    I haven't seen any videos yet, but Bono's facial expression was incredible. He was totally "there", MacPhisto was back and all. everything we love to see on the dvds, it was there with him. Testosteron, I guess Edge was having fun as well. Adam smiled even more than usually. Larry was... LArry
    UTEOTW had grand moments, too. Miss Sarajevo... still touching when he does the opera part, standing in the pouring rain getting the shivers when he brings out those notes is something I'll never forget. Elevation.... no words necessary. I stood close with some French guys, and they were the bouncy kind like me, so we bounced together like there was no tomorrow - your own fun always depends on the folks around you, and these guys were perfect. Great time down there.
    COBL, Vertigo, Crazy... all went by in one row, leaving me hoarse. I just love this part.
    One was great again, as was Walk On, and MLK, too. WOWY was nice to sing along, Brussel crowd was good there, as they also were on night 1. Moment of Surrender... you could hear people sing the oh oh oooh's long after we had left the stadium, out on the streets. Amazing.
    Streets went off there again, something happens during that song again and again

    I don't know, I'm sure things are slipping my mind already, as my brain is turning towards sleep mode by now it'll come back. For now.... all I can say is... after 13 concerts on this 360° Tour, my journey following the band all over Europe has come to an end. 12 of those 13 times have been amazing ( the 1 exception a fail on my side, surely U2 was great), and I'm grateful I could be a part of all of this. Brussels 2 was the perfect ending of an incredible time I had with those Irish boys. Thank you, U2. For everything.

    Hey, guess Bono was serious: it truely rained a lot and even an awful lot more after the show was finished - hey but we were there and had a Fantastic show ( make that 2 Great nights in Brussels! )

  7. That is one passionate review, Kirsten!! I'm very sorry about the first night, whatever was that happened to you... But glad that you finished your own Musical Journey with a great concert Now get some sleep and deserved rest while others get ready for their own adrenalyne shot

  8. So the day after....After Amsterdam I and II, Dublin I and Paris also my final 360 show. First time my girlfriend and brother joined me on an away gig (as far as Brussels is away though) so it was already a special show for me. Because we had seatings we spend the whole day in the center of Brussels which was a nice change after being in queue for so many hours during my previous shows. At around 16:00 we came across the Hotel the band was staying so of course we joined the crowd and waited for the Boys to come out. It was great to see Bono, Edge and Adam in an off stage setting and so close! After chatting with them in front of the hotel in Amsterdam another great experience. Especially for my brother, who wasnt there in Amsterdam, it was a very special moment. I kind of turned him into a U2 fan during the pre 360 days and to see him this excited for U2 was a trully great moment. So than to the show; we had seatings in D4 which is behind the stage but gives an amazing overview of The Claw. After standing in the pit and front row it was basicaly the first time I saw the Claw in its full glory; MAGNIFICENT! Made some great recording for a possible multicam release (who's making one?) and snaped some amazing pictures. Great to have some total unexpected songs in the setlist; AoH and BAD!!!! Unfortunatly this meant no EBW and/or Mercy but I guess Bad makes up for everything right?? All together a great trip with my closest relatives; what can a U2-fan ask more?
  9. A little pissed that I didn't get a ticket for the 2nd show. I love that setlist and I love rain during a concert. Anyway. glad with the 1st night. Saw some songs I hadn't seen before and the gig was great.

  10. Back from the second night in Brussels…… amazing experience again!

    U2 started a little late, because of the endless roadie-actions on stage: “is it gonna rain? Big white umbrella’s up on stage; no its isn’t gonna rain, umbrella’s down again, o wait it IS going to rain, umbrella’s up again, etc…
    Actually because of this, I noticed for the first time (at my 4th 360 gig…) the green clock falling to smithereens at 12:00 ! never saw that on the other gigs….. amazing reaction form the crowd.

    I was hoping for Gloria to replace I Will Follow, but I enjoyed NYD as well. Knowing that it was going to be my last 360 gig (I think), I tried to soak up (no pun intended) every detail en loved it to bits! Even the slightly cheesy “armwaving” in Mysterious Ways appealed to me: seeing synchronised waving of 50.000 arms is really impressive!
    Until the End of The World had Bono singing: “360, you’re still talking about TEOTW……” and in the middle he completely forgot the words, and it became an instrumental version before he picked it up again….
    After ISHFWILF Bono joked: “now a new song!” and he started playing the harmonica for a full band version of Angel of Harlem. Good grief! What an awesome surprise. And it got even better with BAD ofcourse.
    Phenomenal details in crowd participation: Bono circeling his mic above his head to get the wooooooohooooo rolling through the stadium, like the wave. The community singing of Singing in the Rain (how many rain-snippets can you get in one show?), the reference to the loudness of Amsterdam, the prolonged version of Bad, being completely surpised by Pride with the SBS visuals on the screen! How well it al seemed to click in one big flow!!
    Yes! After the brilliance of UV Wednesday, I heard HMTMKMKM live again (last time I heard it being played live was in Edinburgh, 1997) and loved it all over again! WOWY had it’s shine like stars bit, MOS was brilliant and after that Bono tried singing in the rain once again!

    Leaving the stadium, we were passed by the policemotors that escorted the limo’s in which the bandmembers left (for Saventem Airport perhaps?) It sent shivers down my spine…… seeing them so close by in the street once again. Directly after that we got completely soaked by a horrendous downpoor, with lightening and all that…. But I couldn’t care less, for it were 2 truly amazing nights, that I will remember forever! U2 can still throw a party like no other band can and they can still touch me emotionally, even though I’m supposed to be a grownup now…...
    Finally, to commemorate these 2 amazing nights, I bought myself the 360 “Brussels 22/23 september” t-shirt.

    I will wear it proudly!
