  1. Glad to see you had such an epic night Sergio. Do you believe it was better (show-wise) than Barcelona? And witnessing Spanish Eyes = On another note, you posted some time ago that you haven't experienced Until The End Of The World live. Was I right back then ?
  2. 100 times better than Barcelona. Barna was special because it was the first time a tour was starting in Spain, that made the show worth it. And some performances were top notch, and living the comeback of Ultraviolet and TUF was priceless. Yes, Barcelona was a great show.

But yesterday night was a FLAWLESS concert. The four of them were on fire. And enjoyed themselves. I saw Larry smiling at least FOUR TIMES!!!!!!! That was the biggest surprise of the night - he even smiled in the "Spanish and Irish people are very similar" speech by Bono. Incredible. Bono was on top form, his voice was awesome. The setlist was amazing. There were some new visuals. WOWY was sung and not recited. There was Spanish Eyes. Audience was very into it, we even surprised Bono a few times I think.....

My first concert back in 2005 was so intense, and will always be the most special night of my life, but... yesterday's concert was the best I've been to. Ever.
  3. Great to hear. I read something about a strange voice through the PA system during MoS, you remember that?

  4. Adam was trying to sing again?

Secretly, I still prefer the amazing experience of seeing it all for the first time together with 90000 fans who see it all for the first time too. Though any concert after that is miles better concert-wise. Glad it was such a show

Yes, yes, of course. Being among the first people who saw that stage working, and those songs sounding... That is priceless!!! I don't or won't regret attending that concert, ever. But concert-wise (which is what Glenn asked), yesterday's show was 100 times better. I had the concert of my life.

Thank you all for the kind words, people. I have a little "secret" or "surprise" to tell, just leave me a few minutes to write it down.

Finally, Acrobat is going to premiere in Rome, I knew it Sergio!!

  10. Ok, time for the personal surprise.
    NO.

They heard ME. Or, to be honest, they READ me.

This is true story, plenty of friends were with me and can prove it. It seems unreal, I know. But please read and believe, it happened. And it contributed to make me the happiest person on the whole stadium (world??) yesterday night.

Yesterday night I was carrying a big sign saying "Me + Guitar = Spanish Eyes!!".... When Interpol ended their set, techs began to set up U2's stage. Dallas, Stu and all of the crew was there, bringing pedals, amps, mics, bottles and... setlists. Philip Docherty (Bono's guitar tech) is always joking, some of you know. Well, he came up to the top of the stage, just in front of us, and saw my sign, as well as 4 or 5 more signs asking for BAD (I made them at home and then gave them to randome people inside the circle, from the firsts rows). He looked at the signs, smiled, and went back inside the backstage. He came back a minute later with two setlists, one on each hand. He looked at one, and looked to the signs... Looked at the other one, and looked to the signs. He smiled. And then, he sticked only ONE of the setlists to the floor, and broke the other one in pieces. He went and talked to Dallas and Stu, who went to the backstage and brought more setlists that got stuck to the floor at Adam's and Edge's positions, too.

So, we assumed there were 2 different setlists... The only thing was "Which surprise will they bring?????", we all were asking and asking and asking ourselves... And as the show went on, I more and more felt that Bad was going to be played. I had nearly lost all my hopes of Spanish Eyes being played (with or without me on stage, I just wanted it to be played), but then... I Still Haven't Found finished, and Dallas gave Edge the Music Rising Les Paul... And I said to myself "This is the spot of the surprise. And Bad is NEVER played on a Les Paul"... and while my confused mind was trying to understand the situation, Spanish Eyes started, my tears started to fall, my dreams came true.

The rest is history. Spanish Eyes got played after a 9 years absence, and Bono dedicated it... to... someone. Listen to the end of the video:

I don't know if it's me. I can't think of anyone else (I was the only person with a sign requesting Spanish Eyes in the whole circle, moreover he pointed at my zone), although saying "There's somebody, around there, that remember this today... Forget your name, but... that's for you" is a bit strange.

Anyway, whether he dedicated it to me, or not, or half...... they made me the happiest guy in the stadium. Hearing that song live was one of the last dreams I had to acomplish, and now I can say........ LIFT OFF ACHIEVED

Oh, and I eventually got a setlist from the hands of Joe "God" O'Herlihy; after MOS finished and U2 left the stage, the stadium started to be cleared up. All setlists & picks had been given to the first rows, and we were forced to leave the inner circle. Then I climbed to the fence between the FOS and the stage, I shown Joe my sign and shouted him "I have requested Spanish Eyes, please please please gimme a setlist"... He smiled to me, took a setlist out from his pocket, folded it in four parts, and thrown it to me. And it was the perfect closing for a perfect night. I couldn't be more happy.

PS. Sorry for the extra-long and the probably messed-up text and/or redaction. I have written this without checking out for mistakes or coherence. Moreover I'm still a bit overwhelmed and over-excited, so my English skills may suffer a bit

I'm gonna have some sleep (2 blank nights is killer), tomorrow I will upload some grrrrrrrrreat pics. See you all and thanks for the kind words

  11. That's all
