1. Dear Dieder,

My computer indicates that it will be released on November 16th.

    Vintage Vinyl Records

  2. People are quick to bash Paul. He's a legend. Without Paul, U2 wouldn't be where they are today.

Don't like the EP? Don't buy it. U2 fans have a tradition in bashing things before they are even released. I can't play the vinyl anyway. I'm fine with the track listing and still excited about any new U2 project, especially a full new album coming up probably in 2011.

  3. I've been wondering since a few days ago.

Vinyls have two sides, don't they?

  4. Yes, I know, it was more of a rethorical question.

I mean: 3 tracks fit on one side, and what about the other one?

  5. same I guess. But they pbb put Mercy on A and MoS and Crazy on B

  6. Same recordings on both sides? No way. I see more of a Mercy-Crazy on side X and MOS on side Y (MOS is the longest of the 3 with over 8 minutes)... but that will be pretty lame. Oh well, at least the (rumoured) cover is great.

seering Mercy released is great too. Same for MoS. Only weak thing is the same Crazy performance as on Artificial Horizon.
  8. Hello there, folks!

That's great news! I really loved that cover! It's powerful and so touching that one can't help but smile!

...but, you know, I'm also disappointed on the lack of a 4th song in the set. To me, it should've been 2 songs a side as it were on the WIDE AWAKE IN AMERICA EP (which I still have and put a go to it some time to time),but instead it has 3 tracks. I wonder if MoS will be on A side and the other 2 on the flip side. I think it's unlikely Mercy on the B side, though!

Sorry about my english. I'm still learning...

    Love to everyone!

    R.
  9. Breaking news.

U2 will issue a limited edition three-track live EP, "Wide Awake in Europe," including a previously unreleased song, as an exclusive item for independent record stores on Nov. 26.

Top-selling Irish band's piece will be the key title for "Back to Black Friday," an indie retail event mounted by the organizers of the annual Record Store Day. Nearly 1,400 stores participated in RSD in April this year.

Promotion is designed to build traffic at indie outlets on the Friday following Thanksgiving, the day Christmas shoppers typically crowd mass merchants and mall chain stores.

Limited to 5,000 copies, U2's 12-inch vinyl release will include a version of the concert favorite "Mercy," recorded live in Brussels on Sept. 21. Set will also feature "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight" (cut in Dublin in July 2009) and "Moment of Surrender" (captured in September in Paris).

Exclusive product - most of it on vinyl -- from Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix and Cee Lo Green, among others, is also earmarked for the Black Friday promotion. EMI Music previously announced a new vinyl boxed edition of George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" for the event.

Availability of unique product has spurred lineups at RSD stores in the past, since small allocations of the exclusive collector-oriented titles are quickly depleted. This year's draws included vinyl from Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, R.E.M., the Velvet Underground, the Sex Pistols and Sonic Youth.

In other news: Amazon.com started cancelling preorders.

  10. Just pre ordered my vinyl, just in case, I used paypal. I'm scared that they will cancel my order and I won't get my money back.
