1. I know a lot of people slag Oasis but they truly are (were) a great straight-ahead rock and roll band. I've seen them live three times and really enjoyed all three shows - great energy from both the band and the crowds.

Their first two albums are loaded with hits and any fan of U2 should really own both of them. After that they had a lot of hits (and misses). Go to itunes and get...

    Definitely Maybe (whole album)
(What's The Story) Morning Glory (whole album)

    and the following tracks...

    Stand By Me
    Don't Go Away
    D'You Know What I Mean?
    All Around The World
    Acquiesce
    The Masterplan
    Whatever (if available)
    Go Let It Out
    The Hindu Times
    Stop Crying Your Heat Out
    Lyla
    The Importance of Being Idle
    The Shock of The Lightning

Oasis phases are outstanding...I've never been able to decide whether i like Morning Glory of Definitely Maybe more

Good list. That would do. (I was perhaps being a little harsh last time I posted... )
  4. First half of Definitely Maybe, 2/3 songs of Morning Glory and the first couple of songs of Don't Believe The Truth is pretty much all you need from this band imo...

Oh, and maybe the horse song on the last album
  5. Dance if you wanna dance...

I'm having another Oasis phase right now, I induced my girlfriend to them (I made a personal Best Of for her with edited and crossfaded tracks, etc) and I have to say that I'm [re]discovering some oldies but goldies, like Masterplan. Awesome song, and it fits my life as a glove right now.
  6. Great first album which they never came close to matching.

File under 'Just another U2 support act'

  10. Oasis were a great band and was the best thing to happin to the british music scean in the 90's,,they gave a much needed kick up the ass to most bands and made the rest try harder,,There music never changed that much but you knew what you were getting when buying an album,,forget the hype forget the drama and just enjoy the tunes ( sound so much better on a hot day with a cold larger).
  11. Curious to know if anyone picked up the free download of Brady Eye's new single Bring the Light...and if you did what do you think of it.
