Saw them last time round at the SECC and whilst they were good live, it was full of teenage girls screaming for Sex on Fire for 2 hours!

I dunno if KOL will pull it off in a venue like Murrayfield to be honest.

Ah well. At least you'll be able to hear it from your house

And Joe, very unlucky. I was going to go to Pendulum last year to find out that it was during the midst of my exams

Same as my experiences. Dead crowd until Sex on Fire, dead again then mad for Use Somebody. Wouldn't go see them again. Not cheap either.

Must be a different crowd then in America...funny, the European/SA crowds always win out in terms of rowdiness, etc., but when I saw KOL in a *suburb* of Chicago- not even the city itself- the rain forced people off the lawn, into the pavilion seating, and the entire time, the whole places was jumping on top of each other- upwards of 27,000 screaming people. Crazy for "Molly's Chambers", "Taper Jean Girl", "Sex on Fire", "The Bucket", "Black Thumbnail", "Use Somebody", "Knocked Up"...all the classics, all the new ones- the place was an utter riot. And it was amazing. Would pay any amount to see them again.

    Funny how experiences differ.

Just played CAS again, full run- probably my 10th full listen at this point. I've settled in with how much I like it. Hasn't grown any more, but I love it. Nothing changes that.

Only By The Night won them new audiences. Sadly the show I went to was full of that new audience. Shame.

The band played well but they were boring on stage. The bassist played with his back to the crowd and Caleb is the stiffest person ever. Ticket prices have also ballooned too. I'm sure i'll still have my phases.
  4. Yeh 80 quid is a bit steep, even if it was at more suitable date that price is a bit off putting

I don't think their music suits them "working the crowd". I like the way Caleb swings his hips while he plays guitar, Matthew plays with his teeth for the crowd on "Closer" and that pucker-face he makes is priceless, Nathan is a greatly entertaining drummer....and sadly, I agree that Jared plays to Nathan too much. But I think their performances are everything they should be. True to the music, true to the soul, nothing all done up.
  6. Im trying to come up with a best of introduction cd for a friend (including Come around Sundown). Any suggestions? 18-20 tracks Thanks!!

I've made KOL mixes for friends and used the following as openings:

    Notion
    Closer
    Knocked Up

Crawl is always the second song

The End, opener from CAS, would also work quite well. If I were making a greatest hits, this is what I would do: (I fit like 20 songs on the one I made, so assuming that would still work)

    Notion
    Crawl
    Taper Jean Girl
    Slow Night, So Long
    Molly's Chambers
    Fans
    Pyro
    Red Morning Light
    California Waiting
    Closer
    The End
    Sex on Fire
    The Bucket
    Knocked Up
    Radioactive
    The Immortals
    Black Thumbnail
    Pickup Truck
    Trani
    Arizona

The way I see it, they don't need Use Somebody. They've heard it before. If they like it, they can download it- this is a REAL KOL introduction. (And yes, Sex on Fire is still on there. That's real KOL.)
  8. Slane sold out. Wasn't expecting that. O2 date next month could be tempting though.
  9. Did they announce an O2 one?
  10. Checked, they did, definitely a more appealing price. Definitely gonna be one to think about

  11. Yea. December 11th. On sale Tuesday. Pre-sale Monday (dunno how to get pre-sale access though). Will sell in an instant.

You think they'll go in an instant straight after selling out Slane? That's a good few thousand after forking out €80, they ain't gonna do it again What's the capacity of Slane anyway?
