1. Any Australians watching. The backdrop during Birds of Toyko's performance was a complete rip-off from ZooTV!
  2. nope but I want to have a look now!
  3. I'm not watching, but I see from twitter that a couple of my favourite people, Dan Sultan and Megan Washington have won awards. Always nice when people who are actually talented get recognised.

  4. I said that straight off as soon as I saw it.

Megan Washington's performance was great, about the only time I actually sat and watched it.

  5. This is only rehearsal footage but wow did they think nobody would notice?
  6. I see what you mean now! I thought yeah it's a fair bit like it then they started flashing words on the screens then it was obvious...may not be deliberate but its alike anyway!

On the TV version the singer is even standing in front of a [TV] screen at the start.
  8. might look a fair bit similar haha... but it's (show in general) getting a lot of criticism it seems

  9. It was crap. Half the presenters didn't have a clue what they were on about. And another thing - it is an Australian awards show, so all Australian presenters would have been something. Of course that wouldn't happen - the idiots that organise something like the ARIAs and castrate it to something that is completely unwatchable and laughable wouldn't know any different.

Hell, they nominated Kylie Shithogue for something. Doesn't that say something about the state of Australian music? Personally singers like Washington need more coverage but she just ain't mainstream enough - and did you see the crowd? When she was out there they just sat there bored 'cos they can't handle real music unless it goes for 3:37, has a piss-poor ProTooled beat and uses a lot of fucktune. I was happy to see Vanessa Amarossi got a nomination - she's way too underrated.

Sad to see how bad the state of music - nationally and internationally - has become. 10 years ago, it wasn't too bad. The Australian bands around were pretty damn good but now they're just crap 'cos if it ain't short and repetitive what good is it? And pronouncing debut as 'de-butt' - what crap. I will not watch again. Even Powderfinger seemed bored as all fuck - probably 'cos they're leaving at the right time when they have success and mainstream music is pissing down the drain.
