I've been using the ZT Lunchbox for a month or two now, and really loving it. I remember when I mentioned it here some people sounded intersted, so I decided to record a quick clip to demo it for you guys that might be interested in buying this kick-ass little amp. It's definitely worth the money!

I think we can all meet on common ground here when it comes to U2 tone, and when you can get a decent Edge tone you can get a decent tone for the kind of music that seems to be generally liked around here. So I recorded the demo using U2 songs. Forgive the mistakes, I haven't practised these songs in a while, I've mainly been busy writing/practising songs for my own band!

    Hope you guys like it,

    Alex

For those interested, signal path was:

    Strat -> M13 -> ZT Lunchbox

    simple as that!

Is there an amp mod on the M13? Or are you just using a delay setting? For instance, even if I'm playing through a regular Fender-90 amp, I can set my Digitech box to make it sound like I'm playing through a tweed. Anything like that going on, or is it pure lunchbox?

    It's a beautiful tone, I'm amazed
  2. No amp sims (personally I don't like them anyway!) It's all pure ZT Lunchbox. Only effects from the M13 here were mod delays, tube screamer sim, a compressor, and a wah for The Fly.

    and Thanks!

I don't care for them either, but occasionally it helps and you can get some killer effects out of them. Good to know though...that seems to be a nifty little box...
  4. ZT LUnchbox is great.

Here's some U2 clips that Mick from 'The Unforgettable Fire' (New York) tribute made:

(Entire) "Somtimes You Can't Make It..."

    Snippet of "Walk On"

    Snippet of "Bad"

And for fun... Mick playing "New Years Day" piano on iPad.
  5. You already posted the iPad and the Walk On things some time ago... But always fun to watch that again. Seriously, that lunchbox is the most awesome thing I ever heard in terms of [sound produced / size of the gizmo], it's just.... astonishing.
  6. Hey guys!
I was wondering, the bottleneck Edge uses since the Vertigo tour..
    Can you buy these anywhere?
Oh yeah, I mean the one that Dalles custom-made for him.. (made to slide one string)
Sorry if anyone already asked this somewhere between this and the other 261 pages..
But I can't really find this little thing anywhere in the EU.. (Or Holland, where I live..)

I have a slide that's about a third of the size of a regular slide, but it's still a bit bigger than the 1-string one Edge had made. I think Dallas had it "cut" for him, so you'd probably have to do the same.
  9. Yeh cutting a regular slide should do the trick, I've never seen one for sale Hacksaw and a filer and you'll be grand
  10. Cutting a normal-sized slide is the thing for me too, moreover you get TWO Edge-size slides
  11. Hahaha
    True, true!
Well ,thanks for the info anyway!
Maybe I should do something like that..

What would you guys see as the best budget all in one effects processor?
I recently bought a Vox Tonelabe LE.. but you guys seem to be fond of the
    M13 alot, aren't you?
  12. I used to have the tonelab and I thought it was awesome. What happened was, I wanted to go back to a pedal board, and I did for a long time, but then when I joined a band I knew I needed something with less tap dancing (less footwork needed ). I got the M13 because it still has a bit of the pedal board feel to it, and hte tone is just great.

A lot of people are looking at the new Pod HD500, which is pretty much the M13 with amp sims, a built in expression pedal, and a different interface:

A lot of the guys on U2soundforum have even switched from M13, or even their Axe-FX rigs, or pedal boards, to this unit. It seems to suit their needs better than anything at the moment.

    Hope that helps,

    Alex
