  1. Thank Fenderboy
  2. Strange, One Tree Hill doesn't give me goosebumps, although I thought it would. I detect some lack of energy/strength on Bono's voice... I'm not sure though. It just didn't give me chills, excuse me

You definitely aren't alone. Sounds like his smoke habits have got the better of him there. Wish he would just stop again, like he did in 2005-6. Sigh.

Anyway, I thought the new melody on Ultraviolet's chorus was better than before, so at least that's something..
  4. I prefer 2006 versions than 2010. I see the same lack of energy. A bit of a Walk on treatment here... Not in the same proportions, it remains great and beautiful but...
  5. The people who have actually been to the shows have said otherwise. It's typical of U2 fans to over-analyse everything and to complain about songs while sitting at home at their computers instead of being at the concert themselves.

One Tree Hill was amazingly touching, Bono sang it beautifully, his voice is just great. I think the fact they dedicated it to the miners gave it an extra special meaning and sentiment. I cried when I heard it, it's such a special song for me. Beautiful performance. I hope they keep that one in the set for a while, even though they're leaving New Zealand.

I profoundly appreciate the dedication to the miners and their families and I seriously admire their balls for performing a 23 years old and almost unknown song at their most successful and crowded tour ever. It's just that the performance itself didn't touch me - although I supposed it would. If they had played it in San Sebastian I probably would've been the happiest man on Earth. It's just that a song has to be performed VERY well to give you goosebumps from 20.000 kms away.
  7. I agree. People always find something to bitch about

Think Bono's voice is better than ever.
  8. No, actually it's GREAT that they did it, it's really emotional and one of their greatest song EVER. But I don't know, I wasn't at the show after all...
About Bono's voice, nothing to add, he really sounds great when he wants.

So, it's fine to say positive things "about songs while sitting at home at their computers instead of being at the concert themselves." - But it's bad to say negative things "about songs while sitting at home at their computers instead of being at the concert themselves."

    Where's the difference?

Because U2 are clearly flawless and don't deserve criticism. You've been around long enough to know that.

    Amen.

I consider myself a generally positive fan, but when there's something I dislike, I say it exactly as loud as the good things. Why should I hide my negative opinions?
