It's just that a song has to be performed VERY well to give you goosebumps from 20.000 kms away.

I don't really see how the performance this year was worse than the one 4 years ago and I don't think that it's an unknown song. The Joshua Tree did sell around 25 Million, you know.
  2. Ok I really don't see how people who were not at the concert can accurately deliver criticism because the whole point of a live act is to actually be there and see the band in person. One Tree hill was phenomenal both times this year, just as much, if not more so than during the Vertigo tour. Geez, people and their criticism.

Also, regarding the debate of where Unchained melody fits, after listening to the bootleg, I have to say that the track should be titled One/Unchained Melody (snippet)/Where the Streets Have No Name. It's absolutely amazing.
  3. I wouldn't mind if they play One Tree Hill here in Sao Paulo

    Perfect own goal.

  5. You got a very good point there. Which goes up for most of such comments actually.
  6. One Tree Hill in the two days *.*
I hope that when they start to play the new songs (one or two for each show), One Tree Hill don't be puted off.. And excellent choice in putting Scarlet on the set, I think it's a very good intro to Walk On, but seriously I preferer without JZ rap
  7. All opinions/criticism is allowed whether positive or negative! Im open to hearing everyones point of view on the performance of One Tree Hill that's for sure, or any performance of U2!

But from actually being there at the concert and being a kiwi and the tribute to the Pike River Miners before the OTH performance it definitely gave me goosebumps and was a touching moment! I Loved it.. Bono's voice was great, but i think my judgement could of been a bit clouded by the fact that I was at the concert and just totally in the moment... haha
  8. I think the argument is that people sit at home and nitpick about every little detail and criticize any given song that way. There's really no song that U2 have performed live that is "perfect"...they can all be criticized about something I'm sure. Rather than drag everything down with a negative comment in almost every post I've read (I'm looking at you, Yeah), why not sit back and enjoy a song as a whole (live or at home on your computer)? What I'm trying to say is that it's getting really old reading the same few posters bitching and moaning about ANY slightly imperfect aspect about the band. I understand that it would be boring to just have positive things here (see: Interference), but come on, some of it is ridiculous. If U2 played a concert just for you with a setlist you picked, I wouldn't be surprised if immediately after you began to critique them on their performance, and then posting on here, "Eh, it could've been better."

Look, I'm all for criticism where it's deserved, but when one seems to be going out of one's way to find flaws, it's getting absurd.

I personally loved One Tree Hill and whether the performance itself was up to par or not doesn't matter to me at all--the message was far more important and that is what should be focused on.
  9. Could you please quote where in this topic I wrote a single word about a performance?
  10. I'm sorry I should have clarified. I meant in any post I've read of yours that I can recall has never been anything positive. I didn't mean for my previous post to read that you've said something in this topic about performance, just in general.
  11. Yep. That's me. You'll never read anything positive from me about the band. Just read my concert reviews, my album ratings, comments on the new songs, etc.
And to top it, I even tape the shit they play live and upload it just to persuade the Bono knights that U2 sucks.
