  1. I'm not saying that you don't like the band. It's just that from what I've come across in yours (and others) postings is almost entirely negative/overly sarcastic. Believe me, I appreciate that you tape and share your recordings, as I do with any other person on here who does that. I just don't understand the need to nitpick about every little detail. I think criticism is only necessary when something is seriously flawed, just like I think that praise should only be given is something is seriously worthy of it. Again, I don't mean to focus just on you, but when I think of the negativity on this forum, you and your avatar come to mind, and there has to be a reason for that.

    Now back to the topic at hand--I'm glad U2 played OTH, though I do kinda hope that New Zealand gets to keep that song for themselves. It'd be sort of sad if U2 began to play that song at the remaining shows...it'd lose some of its luster, if that makes sense. I love the addition of Scarlet though. MLK was getting a little old. Scarlet is short enough that the casual fans won't become TOO bored by it, and the more hard core fans get to revel in its simplicity (Bono's voice does sound fantastic on it, does it not?)

    What is a detail for you, is a big thing for other persons. Besides, I've rarely seen anyone bitching about details (which would be something like Bono's hair in my book). If I think that the setlist doesn't flow or that song xy sucks, I'll say so. If others think that the setlist is great or that Scarlet is a good song, I'll not agree but accept it. Live and let live.

  5. I'll have to slightly agree with shkee there. Criticism is more than ok, it's even neccesary. I do it. And I'm a generally positive fan, as I said before. Criticism is ok and necesary. But being completely ironic-negative-sarcastic-picky mostly all the time sometimes can be annoying for those who read you, babacar. And through all this years, I've realized that you are a huge fan and are not properly negative; it's more like you realize that the current times of U2 are not as great as ~15 years ago. In fact, you're not ironic-negative towards U2 themselves (most of the times), but towards the less experienced fans, or those who are too focused on the less important things. It looks like if you were completely disappointed with the nowadays U2 and you'd try to make everyone see it aswell.

    All this has started just because I detected some lack of greatness on Bono's voice yesterday...

    Aren't you a huge fan? Then, why do you buy their records, own hundreds of live cd's and dvd's, and even record the shit they play live?
