1. Like all u2 records at 5000 copies and more, it will be easiest avaible in the future... WAIE is not a collector item.
An item between 5 and 1000 copies... THAT'S COLLECTOR

It will be avaible for 30$ max in sealed condition in the future... Sure

Disagree. If it's released, you can collect it. If you don't have it, you can collect it. Every single person in the entire world minus 5000 don't have this. Just because it pressed more copies than some other limited releases doesn't mean this isn't a special item. I'll cherish mine forever since I know I'm in an incredibly minute percentage of the world that has their hands on this.

Doesn't necessarily matter if you can get it. There are people out there selling even the rarest of U2 material for amazingly high prices...just because it's available, does that mean it's no longer rare or a collector's item? Because it can be purchased, no matter the sum?

    I think WAIE is a collector's item.

+1. Regardless of how rare something is, the fact that it's something U2 released and only a certain amount of copies makes it a collectors item. It's a collectors item to us regardless of value and rarity. Don't forget not all of us are able to shovel out cash for things like the Achtung Baby User's Kit or other super rare U2 items...

I'll buy 4,999 of them and destroy them, then it'll be worth collecting. Approximately 0.00007% of the world own a copy...

    Lol, it's not collectible unless it's £100+

Nah, I agree with everyone above, if it's been released, it's collectible regardless of the number of pressings or price.

  7. Of course, everyone is free to feel what's a collector item or not, for me U2 items I can found every months everywhere... it's not collector.
It's not because an item is expensive that's it must be a collector, look the price of the last box set of 360° TOUR... very expensive and actually easy avaible...

But was the box set limited to 5000 copies? This is what sets WAIE apart from the other freely available items, it's limited and no longer available in shops. I could buy the 360 Boxset now, brand new off the internet whereas if I wanted WAIE I would have to buy it from someone who already owns it, either in an auction or at a price above RRP.

Of course everything is collectible, it's the rarer items that stand out though.
  9. Today I bought my first vinyls:
    7” with or without you
    7” pride
12” under a blood red sky

I already listened to the singles on the jukebox: really amazing, sounds old, but yet so great to hear! First gave a listen to ‘with or without you’: in the beginning Bono had a very low voice and the song was played so slow, but that’s because the jukebox had to warm up after a while everything was normal. Although there’s something really strange with the B-side. I gave a listen to ‘luminous times’ and ‘walk to the water’ (I have to admit I never heard this songs before, so I didn’t know what to except), but this is the least I expected: I heard the voice of a woman! I thought I chose the wrong song so I tried again, but the woman’s voice came back I went on the internet to hear the actual song: everything was the same, except that I heard Bono’s voice instead of a woman. I noticed that these songs, played on the jukebox, are in way higher keys then the ones I hear on youtube, Bono's voice is transformed so much that I didn't recognised him. It's just strange that the other side (with or wihout you) doesn't seem to have this problem.
  10. Were you playing them at 45 or 33 rpms? Might have to do with it. Singles are usually designed to be played at 45, but maybe that b-sides are in 33... Try it (when playing a 33 vynil at 45, you notice a increase in the song speed, and a higher tone too). If you didn't know the songs, you probably didn't notice it, but try them at 33 rpms

I was playing them at 45. But I took a close look to it and I see now that you have to play the B-side at 33 Strange that you have to play one side at 45 and the other at 33. Who invented that??

Anyway, thanks for the advice, gonna try it tomorrow!
  12. Both B-sides are probably longer than the 7 minutes (7') allowed at 45rpm
