  1. Best spot ever, thats where we stood for the 1st concert, perfect view of the screen and all members walk right past and stand there at times, plus the inner stage isn't that far away considering.
  2. That's where I was for Barca. I'll be tempted to move further back next time. The close you are the more iffy the sound becomes. The stage is also more impressive from a distance.

We all know you are going to run to the pit if there's room though.

  3. thats where i was for the 2nd show, only 2 people infront of me, i didnt line up till about 3.30pm. all the members stoped literally rite infront of me, ill put sum pics up tomoz (still got my u2 hangover so im slack atm )

  4. Thanks for the advice guys

Yeah that spot looks great, the only problem is it's not in the pit so will likely be hard to keep other people from taking the spot (and might also be massively packed once the concert gets underway).

How crowded is the pit compared to just outside?

I think we'll try to get that or a similar spot inside the pit on the outer railing.
  5. In fact, I think that the inner circle is less crowded than the first rows in the general field.

We didn't have any issues with losing our places, a few of our group also went out & back in with drinks, toilets breaks etc as well, it was packed, but still had enough room to jump around like a loony once the concert got underway.

There was one idiot that thought he'd be a hero and push his way in when he hadn't been seen all day lining up, he was quickly moved on by all around him.

  7. I can only second what Sergio said.
I stood just at the outside of the circle and it was a great spot !
    (Started queing at about 13h00)

Get friendly with someone in the crowd, talk to them - there's loads of people going it alone - and keep with them, they'll save your spot for you as you could do the same for them. I met a lovely woman and her daughter, and they saved my spot for me when I went over to the merch stands. We were actually the first in the inner circle, so you can get in there even if you get in there at 1pm or right at the back of the queue.

People are good at the U2 shows and if you look out for them they'll do the same for you. We had loads of room right next to the inner rail to do the fist pumping, the dancing, taking photos and the singing along to every song. We had the same dickheads in Melbourne, where they'd jump up to grab the bridge as it moves - they got kicked out straight away; or they'd push in, and we'd just push them back in to the crowd.

It's like fuck off, we got our spots first so stop pushing in. But as I said, apart from them we had a great time. Pretty much queue up at a reasonable time (anywhere from 12pm - 3pm is good), get chatting away to whoever, go for it when the gates open and try your luck. It's a brilliant set-up of a stage and I'm surprised nobody came up with something as versatile but so crowd-friendly before.
  9. Non-one record the second Melbourne show? Always like momentos for shows I attend?
