2010-12-14 - Sydney
Tour: U2 360° Tour
Songs played: 25
Audio recordings: 0

  1. pretended? i'd say they were still pretending.

not ONE single song from pop the whole tour...!!! the only album with no songs whatsoever played..

i thought that maybe, nearly 14 years later they might finally have started to realise what an amazing album it is and started to re-discover some of the songs but it seems the opposite is happening!

    it's truly a fookin disgrace..

It's the Elevation Tour, 360-style. They really don't want to be even associated with it, which is a real shame. Some of their best songs on that album and they just disregard it.

And no, a remix of Crazy Tonight doesn't suffice, even if it is cool.
  3. so true... and i don't think that the stingray into bday opening works at all, they should open with Fez - Being Born and Pop encore (like pop muzik, mofo, LNOE!!!...) and some zooropa stuff instead of ATYCLB (just keep BD) and hold me into wowy doesnt work too imho, only UV, they should play something that justifies the existence of the claw, they could play this set on any older stage, i hope its not too unrelated, but i just wonder about that stuff ;p
  4. They are playing smart now..
No line is a flop (not that bad album at all), but they didn't got what they wanted so they just through out a No line song every now and then, and replace it for some unreleased/new stuff to see how it works live..
Next album will be a hit for sure!

    Definately my opinion as well

  6. not my opinion. They play the biggest stage ever, they gotta play the biggest (the most popular) songs. Its perfectly understandable.
Plus they rotate the songs more than ever.

And what do they actually rotate? like 2-3 spots, sometimes mercy gets in, NS, Glasto, EBW are all gone so the second spot these days is just another classic, but is it worth x ATYCLB songs to wait for one special song when the whole set could be better? That is the question... and the thing about the stage - imagine In a Little While vs Last Night on Earth, which one is made for the big stage and some crazy performance?
  8. The In A Little While vs LNOE is a good point, they need huge songs for this stage

Still the set varies more than on any other tour. The Popmart and Zoo TV also had a huge production but the setlist didnt change much.
Yes, they play safe but they always did.
And dont get me wrong I also wanna hear Pop and/or Zooropa songs, I even think the band wanna play them but with a huge stage comes a big responsibility and they need to play the hits the get the attention/good reviews/money.

I know what you mean, but it just bothers me... I am just sayin that they could keep that public "attention" with the classics, not some back to the roots cheesy album from 2000, its ok that they play material from the newest albums but ATYCLB is just overused (4-5 songs and there should be just BD, Elevation at the most), when you look at HTDAAB its just right - COBL and Vertigo and thats enough, on the other hand NLOTH is almost nonexistent, i dont wanna complain its just wishful thinking xD

i agree with you it bothers me as well. ATYLCB was the album that got me into U2 but now its just overplayed. I wouldnt mind to hear some other HTDAAB songs instead, that album was equally popular!

btw nice to meet you, Martin! Its good to see some czechs around here!

If we see for that point, Last Night On Earth of course, it's a music made for a Popmart show, which incorporates a big stage and all that . In A Little While is something more "personal", but if we see the sucess of the two songs, In A Little While show's up more positivly between the audience and in this tour that is important. But of course, for a true fan and in level of stage and lighting show Last Night On Earth wins !
