  1. I'm just studying English, so when I tried to make translations of U2`s songs I faced with some troubles.
    I hope that the native speakers of English will help me.I`ll try to explain as clearly as I can
    So, in Ultraviolet (Light My Way)
    "You know I need you to be strong" . What is meant : I want you to be strong yourself or I need you to be strong myself?
    And the same story is with "One"
    "Leaves you baby if you
    Don't care for it" . Is "baby" here the direct address or it means : You'll have a baby"?
    I know that this sounds a bit foolish, but I'll be much obliged if anyboby helps me

    that is basically saying i need you to be strong through this dark day and long night, its like he is saying it to someone

    "leaves you baby if your dont care for it"

    its like again hes talking to someone, talking about love saying if you dont care for love it will leave you. which is true, if you dont care for love it will leave you and you will be alone

    "one love, we get to share it, leaves you baby if you dont care for it"

    Are both completely different. That is why music is powerful, people make their own explanations.

    As you can see, women make things complex with all those extra interpunction

    but yeah i'd go with the second interpretation thing.
