The only problem was the sound quality which was pretty terrible (and we were just below one of the upper speaker belts) it sounded like a 96 Kbps MP3 played at max volume on a shitty stereo - distorting and clipping badly - I got far better sound (you could actually make out the guitar line and vocals) by pinching my ears closed but you look silly doing that in the pit - perhaps good quality foam earplugs?
I'm not sure if I wanted to be outside the pit to get better sound - it seemed much more crowded and I'm not sure how much better the sound would be right next to the walkwaly railing (further back and you loose the connection to the band)
