Both had two tour legs and two album releases (kind of - Wide Awake in Europe in 2010).
NLOTH was a critical but not a commercial success by U2 standards. No major awards.
The 2009 legs I think pretty much match the 2010 legs in terms of performances.
2010 shows were more of a greatest hits and looking ahead to the new material.
Both years were the highest grossing tour.
Rose Bowl in 2009 was the most watched live video stream in Youtube history.
I think all in all, 2009 was a touch better year for U2. Which is not to say that 2010 was bad or they are on the downslide. I'm looking forward to an excellent 2011 with a smashing album and a brilliant supporting tour.
