1. Which are your best albums of 2010?

My top choice is without any doubt High Violet form The National and the second is The Suburbs by Arcade Fire.
  2. The Suburbs is a great album, definitely in there. I never really got into High Violet, might try again soon. Come Around Sundown by Kings Of Leon is up there for me too Will probably think of a few more and come back here
  3. I only enjoyed four albums this year:

    Believe II - Orianthi
    Slash - Slash
    The ArchAndroid - Janelle Monae
Valleys Of Neptune - Jimi Hendrix
  4. Slash, yup knew I forgot something Mumford & Sons too. They're brilliant

  5. Mumford And Sons were one of those groups I just picked up their album and hadn't even heard of them before. T'was the best 'just pick it up' moments I've had.
  6. I write for my college's newspaper in the style section, and two other writers and myself collaborated on a best of 2010 list. You can read more about it here, but the list is as follows (I put a * next to albums that I had something to do with getting on the list):

    01. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
*02. The Black Keys - Brothers
    03. Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
    *04. Deerhunter - Halcycon Digest
    *05. MGMT - Congratulations
    06. LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
*07. Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz
    08. The White Stripes - Under Great White Northern Lights
    09. Spoon - Transference
*10. Devo - Something For Everybody
    11. Beach House - Teen Dream

    15. Vampire Weekend - Contra
*16. The Coral - Butterfly House
    17. Sleigh Bells - Treats
    18. Crystal Castles (self-titled)
*19. Red Sparrowes - The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer
    20. Good Kids Sprouting Horns - Give Up The Ghost (a band that's local to me, they're good, check them out)
    21. The-Dream - Love King
*22. Kings Of Leon - Come Around Sundown
    23. The Walkmen - Lisbon
t24. Wavves - King Of The Beach
t24. Best Coast - Crazy For You
*25. The Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

My personal top 10 list goes something like this (with a song sample):

    01. Devo - Something For Everybody ("Human Rocket")
    02. MGMT - Congratulations ("It's Working")
    03. Black Mountain - Wilderness Heart ("The Hair Song")
    04. The Black Keys - Brothers ("Everlasting Light")
    05. Blitzen Trapper - Destroyer of the Void ("Destroyer of the Void")
    06. Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz ("I Want To Be Well")
    07. Kings Of Leon - Come Around Sundown ("The End")
    08. Red Sparrowes - The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer ("In Illusions of Order")
    09. Dungen - Skit I Allt ("Högdalstoppen")
    10. Angels & Airwaves - LOVE ("Epic Holiday")
  7. ^ I've heard a lot about Black Mountain so it might be time to check them out.

Oh and forgot all about Congratulations. Again, I picked that one up on a whim and loved it. The best song is Siberian Breaks on that.

DEFINITELY give Black Mountain a listen, particularly the new album. It's the better between 2008's "In The Future" and itself, the only two I've listened to thus far. I got the new album maybe a week or two ago, and I've fallen in love with it.

A bit off-topic, but another album that I recently discovered and enjoyed greatly was "Bonfires on the Heath" by The Clientele, from 2009. Check out the title track to get an idea of what it feels like, but it reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd.

I'll check both out then - thanks for the heads-up.
