I don't think that people should have bought the 7" because the people who bought it would already have the recordings on their computer (but except for Crazy Tonight they would have been audience recordings) and a lot of U2 fans seem to not own a record player.
And it makes no sense to release vinyl exclusive stuff because vinyl is simply ridiculous, despite what some people say. Music on vinyl often "skips", you can accidentally play the music at the wrong speed (although that can be quite humorous) and it's very hard to rip music on vinyl to your computer (although not impossible to do this, but it must be hard to do it well. When my father ripped music from rare Prince 12" vinyls, the sound mix was ruined)
