Yes, It makes it hard to tell his intelligence. I wouldn't ever say that he doesn't come across as intelligent in his posts and I wouldn't say that to anyone.

OHHHH- its the vinyl vs CD thing. OK, that is sorta funny as I was going on about lossless vs lossy some months back. Makes sense now - this is what happens when I don't come on here for a month.

But I agree with you on that -vinyl is lower quality than CD - otherwise they wouldnt have invented the CD (or laserdisc) now would they. People think vinyl sounds better because it produces a slightly distorted 'warm' sound, much like how tube amps sound better than sterile, digital ones.

In reality the CD actually has the more accurate representation of the source audio. The only other thing I can think of that vinyl might have over CDs is that vinyls are not as compressed as audio CDs these days which tend to suffer from clipping.

    Finally, someone with common sense!
    Thank you.

I was listening to Prince 12" extended versions and remixes transferred by someone from vinyl to CD (because most of them are unavailable on CD) and you could hear the distortion noise all over it!

Wasn't he with Oprah in Sydney?

  8. Yes, but it's being shown tommorow (here at least) - I don't remember if anyone in the audience on the day it was recorded reported anything about a new album etc/

I think the audience were mostly American Oprah fans, so it would have probably been unsuitable to talk about a new album.
