    About the picture: I don't think it's fake (but I'm not sure) but I don't believe those shots were taken at the real statue.

    I agree to that. Even though it looks somewhat unreal how Bono stands on the statue, the whole scenery looks real, too much afford and all to be a fake. And he certainly never really climbed the real statue, the local authorities wouldn't have given their permission to that. I think.

  4. I think this is real I read somewhere that to do the scenes on top of the statue they built a replica of its uper half for Bono to stand on as it was too dangerous to use the real one.

    In the first Wenders movie there was an actor/stuntman actually standing on the statue. He desribes this in the director comments of "Wings of Desire" and that the whole of Berlin was pissed off, as they needed to close the "Grosser Sterne" for that shot.

    This wasn't the case with the "Far away so Close" movie.
