I've got no idea, Shine Like Stars and Hear Us Coming are not snippets of other songs, there extra sections those songs. And when they play those extra sections of the song, it's always the full verse - not a snippet.

This is true for U2 and other artists. But we have it better than some of those other artists. Prince for example hasn't ever played the full versions of Let's Go Crazy and Little Red Corvette since 1985. That's the biggest extreme I can think of.
