1. Does anybody have any info on how these verses (Shine Like Stars from With or Without You and Hear Us Coming from One) found their way into the songs?
Were the just left-over verses from the recording sessions?
And if anyone has any answers, why do they sing these versions of With or Without You and One for a whole tour or two, and then only play these extras as nearly once-offs on later tours?

Lastly, why is SLS listed in u2start setlists as a snippet and hear us coming not?

    Cheers
  2. As for the last question, we take our setlists from U2gigs where they list SLS but not hear us coming.

We have another topic on this somewhere.....

  3. I've got no idea, Shine Like Stars and Hear Us Coming are not snippets of other songs, they're extra sections of those songs. And when they play those extra sections of the song, it's always the full verse - not a snippet.

  4. any ideas why though haha?
they are the same sort of thing - each an extra verse added onto the song, and they really aren't snippets at all

was just wondering why that it's different for the same sort of thing between two songs..

yeah that's right, so i was wondering why one is listed and the other not? it's quite odd really..

  6. Yes, it's very, very strange isn't it.

Does anyone here "work" for U2gigs here?

Because they are sick of playing the extended versions of those songs, it's not all that unusual really.

  8. yeah i guess this is true.. although i'm pretty sure most people like the extended versions...

  9. This is true for U2 and other artists. But we have it better than some of those other artists. Prince for example hasn't ever played the full versions of Let's Go Crazy and Little Red Corvette since 1985. That's the biggest extreme I can think of.

    well screw prince then!

  11. Imagine if U2 stopped playing the full version of Where The Streets Have No Name in 1989! There would be riots going on!
