    Muchos medios de comunicación se hacen eco de una noticia aparecida en una web alemana, acerca de unas declaraciones de Paul McGuinness en el Midem hace unos días, confirmando el nuevo disco.. En algún otro sitio se confirma que McGuinness estuvo en el Midem? No había mas medios presentes en las declaraciones de McGuinness? Qué credibilidad tiene esa web? Porqué U2.Com, fuente oficial de noticias de U2 no ha dicho nada?

    Pues ese noticia (bulo), se expandió por la red en el día de ayer. Esto unido a la publicación (que ahora han retirado) en Amazon.de ha provocado el seísmo entre los fans de U2.

    No doubt Sergio will do a far better job than me, but something along the lines of: there's been a lot of talk about the announcement of a new album in May with statements supposedly from Paul McGuinness, but how can they be believed without any official word from u2.com? The hoax even included a listing on amazon.de (deleted) that has caused a kerfuffle among U2 fans.

    Many medias outlets reported on a story that appeared on a German website, taken from a statement by Paul McGuinness at Midem few days ago, confirming the new album. What credibility does this site pose and why has U2.com, the official U2 site not reported on it yet?

    The hoax has reached numerous news networks as of yesterday and this, coupled with an advertisement at Amazon.de has caused excitement (and an earthquake?) amongst U2 fans. Get the whole story by listening to the latest U2Vertigo radio program on Wednesday in Manises 105.7FM Radio.


    A hoax in Spanish is still a hoax, Wikipedia is an electronic mass delusion, there's been an earthquake on U2 fansites and U2.com for the first time in memory hasn't reported on something before other places, even if it isn't happening!!!

    The FM mentioned in the text is just cheap U2valencia propaganda for their own radio station, that's why I didn't translate.
  5. I actually think NLOTH was the best album of the last decade and if anything the reason it failed was because unlike ATYCLB and HTDAAB, it was not radio friendly. It is a real Gem with some songs like MOS which stands up to some of the Best AB and JT had to offer. Its definitely in my top 5 list anyway.

    ive been listening to it a fair bit latley and have to agree that it was an excellent album, cant figure out why it went so shit though, breathe shoulda been released as a single and they shoulda kept Winter on there

    It's a great album, but there's something missing in my opinion. My choice is HTDAAB, but that's subject for another topic....

    About the album, I guess they just don't know what to realease or don't know what to work on...They have the Songs Of Ascent stuff and the new material, so there's a lot of things to do in my opinion.

  9. I think we'll get something different this time around. Especially with Danger Mouse producing. I think U2 will be taken out of their comfort zone and into something different. They'll supply U2-esque songs, and Danger Mouse, with his different approach to music, will say "let's try this", and knowing how much U2 likes to push the envelope they'll say "hell yes".

    I think Brian Eno and Lanois have gotten to the point where they can't do for U2 what they used to be able to do. I don't think they can help U2 re-invent themselves and get thrown into new territory because they've all got comfortable with eachother. I think they all get into the studio and think "let's make a NEW U2 record", but they sub consciously make a record that sounds VERY U2. NLOTH sounded a lot like the last two albums, no question about it. There were some experimental songs on there (Fez) but they should've expanded on that more. I think Danger Mouse is just what U2 needs at this point, a fresh producer with a fresh sound.
