    overall though not impressed but will probably end up buying on ebay mainly because it has U2 on it.

    So that is why ppl renew their membership and pay 40 $ for a CD of which at least 50% of the songs are already in any regular fan's collection?

    The cherry on top of the ice cream is that they took Streets from Rose Bowl, put the choir over it and split the song in 2, cutting off Amazing Grace as separate track. What a joke!

  3. I've been a paying member since december 2004 and have not been disappointed since. I've not become a member for the free gifts; but rather the whole package of presale-codes, gifts, being on the boards there (chatting on the Dutch forum with all the friends I've gotten to know since then), etc.

    So for me, it's worth every penny. I like to spend time on u2.com, u2start.com, atu2.com, u2torrents.com. All of these sites offer me different things.

  5. I'm on the fence about this.

    - I do have most of the songs.
    - The songs that are easily available on albums could have been the same except alternate versions.
    - I am excited about Sunday Bloody Sunday but why is it not the version from Berlin? I think that one means more does it not?
    - I also kind of wish they had kept it to strictly U2 tracks and not Bono or Bono/Edge.

    Either way I will enjoy receiving it in the mail.

    I'm sure your dad has better tastes in other things. I just hope he doesn't prefer the Pet Shop Boys' version of "Streets." That just gave me a scary thought: next year's "gift" might be a collection of U2 covers!!!!!

    As of last year I'd have said they'd give us quality stuff. Not this year.

    Next year has to be Rose Bowl or a remix collection with the Jacknife Lee Fast Cars remix somewhere on there.


  12. While I don't prefer that version I definitely don't hate it and really don't understand why it get so much hate here.

    Not trying to be rude or call anyone out but sometimes I feel like the people on this forum only like one genre of music and that is it. To me that isn't a music fan. I like all genres from rock to pop to rap and hip-hop to alternative to indie (and lots of stuff in between). Again, sorry, especially if this wasn't the right place to express this opinion but I felt like it needed to be said.
