1. Too bad they can't release Raleigh 2009. Maybe one of my favorite shows by them, and by far the best 360 show, although Dublin was nice too. I still think having them just put all of them on U2.com as subscription renewal choices would be best. If only Bono didn't sing so many other people's songs all over the place to make it an editing nightmare to avoid all the licensing. Too bad they can't trade Bowie something to leave the Space Odditiy/Soon/Breathe intro intact. Breathe is not my fave U2 song ever, but it really fit great as an opener showing the new material. Return of the Ping Pong Guitar was ok, but it just looked weird with Bono flopping around with nothing to sing. Since dropping Breathe, the intros just haven't been too exciting.

Return of the STINGRAY Guitar is actually pretty cool and Bono does a good job of hyping the crowd while the boys jam. I love the version I have from one of the German shows where he ends up shouting "Achtung baby!"
  3. Really great idea!

  7. i want to see a european show for a change, they are usually always american grr...i mean what do we have from europe....joshua tree in paris, elevation at slane castle, and a 1 hour dvd from milan.....

the rest all american....definatly need something different!

  8. No it didn't. It is a popular myth among U2 fans. U2 planned to released Slane before the "petition" was even started. It was already in post production when the petition was started. U2 don't typically film a show with full production with the purpose of not releasing it in some way.

Regarding this particular petition, I commented about it on U2Torrents already. IF (and thats a big if) U2 releases a new album this year it would be better for the DVD to be later on the tour so new songs are part of the DVD.

Typically some of the SA shows are broadcast anyway, we will have full quality bootlegs of some of these shows. Why have an official DVD of a show I will most likely be able to get on a torrent in the same or similiar quality?

  9. signed and hit the big 80

    Thanks for the LOL yeah

And yeah, nobody is going to use that as a basis to film a DVD. They film what they want to film, and release what they want to release. I believe that we all had something to do with Mercy being played, and some of the classics that Willie Williams reads about on the fanpages and suggests to the bands- but this is a huge spend for U2. Willie can't just be like, "Oh hey, I saw this on the internet- you guys should do it!" and have them drop however many thousands and thousands of dollars and planning it takes to film a show. This is a financial and logistical ordeal, not a setlist slot.

    Looks pretty though.

Considering that Spiderman won't last the year, that sure won't be happening.
