This has grown to be one of my favorite songs not only of Origin Of Symmetry, not only by Muse, but of all time. I used to dislike it (mainly because of the strong harmonics that Matt plays at the start, they made my ears bleed, I hated them!!) but I played it on guitar one day and fully realized how fucking great it is. Their best song? Probably. Simply awesome.

Wash me away, clean your body of me...
Erase all your memories, they'll only bring us pain...
And I've seen all I'll ever need..........

yeh those harmonics kick arse when u play em on guitar its kinda like a Stairway to Heaven/ Bohemien Rhapsody but in reverse. would be in my top 5 muse songs for sure, gona listen to it now actually
  2. I see
I never had thought of Citizen Erased like a reversed STH/Bohemian R., but that idea kicks arses and makes me like the song even more
  3. haha nice, yeh those songs kinda build up then go all out, but CE goes all out then calms down.
  4. Now, I don't know if this is true or not, I was told off a friend, so take it with a pinch of salt. Apparently after their Reading & Leeds Festival performance, they will stop playing EVERYTHING off Origin of Symmetry live, and I mean completely. My friend say it's something to do with a "new direction" or something like that.

This is disappointing, because apparently they announced this. That's bad. That means we miss such classics as New Born, Plug in Baby, Feeling Good and Citizen Erased live.
  5. yea i read that in the nme. going to leeds but will be a sad loss to lose plug in baby, awesome live song.
  6. That is bullshit.

What Matt said is that they are going to take the dust off some oldies from OOS (I guess he might mean Micro Cuts, Megalomania, Space Dementia, etc... those weird tracks that haven't been played for years) for once, for those events that coincide with the OOS 10 anniversary. And he said that it might be the last chance to hear some of those tracks live. But there is NO WAY that they stop playing Plug In Baby or New Born... even Bliss will stay appearing every now and then.

    Drawing a line under OOS

Muse have said they are likely to play some songs from their 'Origin Of Symmetry' album for the "last time" at this year's Reading And Leeds Festivals.

The band were speaking in the new issue of NME, on UK newsstands tomorrow (March 23) or available digitally. They are joining My Chemical Romance in headlining the August events, while The Strokes and Pulp will play co-headline slots.

Frontman Matt Bellamy said that the band want to mark the 10-year anniversary of 'Origin Of Symmetry''s release in some way at the shows.

"It's probably the last time some of these songs will ever be played live again," he said of the 2001 album. He explained that the shows would see the band "drawing a line under one phase of our career".

He added: "It was on the second album ['Origin...'] that things really started happening for the band, and when we focused on the live side of things much more. So it'll be like coming full circle: we've gone off on one a little bit, and now it feels like the right time to pull it back and remind ourselves of what we were doing 10 years ago."

Get the new issue of NME for the full interview with Muse, as well as chats with the other major players heading for the festivals.

The Reading And Leeds Festivals take place on August 26–28. Muse headline the Friday night (26) at Leeds and the Sunday night (28th) at Reading.
  8. One of the few decent 00s bands around. Kings of Leon are probably the only other one, and even then i personally found Come Around Sun a bit disappointing

I like Muse. KoL can go set their beards on fire.

  10. Thanks Serg.
What I don't get is U2, the pioneers of perfected Hi-Concept stadium rock, taking so many shitty and backwards looking bands under their wing.

KoL and The Strokes are prime examples.
    Boring, boring crap.
