1. a) A Setlist?
    b) A Song?

    My answers are:

    a) 2001-05-16 Chicago
After the usual Elevation opener, the next 6 songs are basically the ZooTV setlist. Surprising and brilliant.

    b) Unknown Caller
I was going through a few things personally and the song seemed to hit home - get off your arse and start again! It worked.
  2. Hearing Moment Of Surrender played in full on the radio before the NLOTH release was pretty good.

NLOTH (the song) at Barca 1 was the last big moment for me. Before that it would have been the Brussels 87 bootleg.
  3. Just had a little look at Brussels '87. It looks like a pretty standard setlist. Was it a good gig?

  4. Read my review. That show has kept me a U2 fan during weeks and months that I have had no love for the band at all.
  5. Great gig, they're a bit drunk I think. Audience is brilliant too.
  6. I'm downloading it right now. Will be listening on my cycle commute to work tomorrow morning.

    Thanks guys!

  7. One of their best ever, without a doubt.

Last time they really blew me away was "Mercy" being played live...that was pretty unreal at the moment, but it's died down for me now quite a bit. But that was a pretty incredible thing to listen to live (I had the 1000 mikes stream on)

Before that, it would have been at 2009-09-13, Chicago II, my show...I had a pretty good feel of what the setlist would be even though I hadn't peeked (Rolling Stone gave away the first few slots and I heard someone talk about SBS and COBL, and UV was also spoiled for me though I had no idea where it'd be)...but I had NO CLUE they would be playing "Until the End of the World", and nobody did really...it really just flipped me the fuck out at the show, incredible moment.
  8. simple answer - 1997

song: first time i listened to the pop album

    setlist: Leeds 97

seems a long time ago now....
  9. Cos it is a long time ago Ah well, I'll think of something tomorrow.

I'll just say One from Modena literally blew me away when I heard it.
  10. Everytime I see them live.
  11. The first time I saw them live last December of course, but in particular when they played Mercy>>Bad at Melbourne 1. Couldn't believe it!
  12. I was quite impressed with Bono when he did Miss Sarajevo back in 2005...didn't know he had the lungs for that and wasn't expecting that song to be played (this was before I followed setlists like I do now).

There's something about that "rap" Bono does at the end of the more recent live versions (e.g. Rosebowl and WAIE EP) of Moment of Surrender that I really enjoy. Really makes the song for me.
