  1. Just in general. Studying in Mexico right now. Loving my time here. Love using the language I've been learning for years. Helps knowing that I'll be seeing U2 May 11 Looking forward to the date, but sad that after U2 I'll only have a few more weeks in this fabulous country.

  3. As I may have mentioned once or twice (LOL) I'm just back from Viet Nam and Cambodia, where I was both working and holidaying. I have photos! Lots of photos! Not all of them very dull! Viet Nam is here and Cambodia is here.

    incredible images. it looks so entirely different from our culture over here in Europe, a world I cannot imagine but would love to discover myself. The Cultural Village there in Viet Nam is amazing. The flowers look so beautiful. And those war photos are truly moving.
    Angkor Thom in Cambodia, is it a temple sort of place? It looks huge and impressive. Bayon, too. They look like places you can spend days just to take it all in and to discover their secrets and reliefs. Ta Prohm looks so old, really ancient. And those trees there, their roots in the air..... really wow, this is all I can say

    thank you so much for sharing your photos, dear. What a precious insight into this culture. I always thought I'd never go and travel to these countries, but now I know it was only because I didn't know just how beautiful they are. It's certainly worth a visit, so much I've learned now

    Thanks, Kirsten It was a pretty cool experience. Angkor Thom was the last great walled city of the Khmer empire. Some of the temples, such as Bayon, are inside the city walls. Also, other awesome places like the Terrace of the Elephants, where the Khmer kings once had elephant races. To enter Angkor Thom for the first time you must walk between the gods on one side and the demons on the other, each engaged in an epic tug-of-war.

    Ta Prohm was probably my favourite of all the temples, It's been restored a little, but as you can see, the strangler figs have been left largely intact. I love the way it feels like the jungle is creeping in over the temple walls to take back what once belonged to it. It's not as well known as Angkor Wat, so there aren't as many tourists around and it's very peaceful. It definitely has a presence about it; it's got that feel about it like Stonehenge or the Mezquita, old and powerful.

    While I could have spent a long time exploring all the temples, it's really hard work climbing all over the ruins in the tropical heat (Khmer stairs are brutal!), so I had to be sensible about picking and choosing. I still have another 5 temples to upload, so if you are interested, please check back again.

    Well, I lost my travelling virginity in 2011 Didn't visit any of the places I listed though Went to Menorca in June and Portugal in September. Hope to visit at least two more place this year also, though we may go on a long trip around Europe, so could fit many places in.

  12. Jeez, I can't just walk into France lol, costs money to travel overseas. Yes you can get a ferry to France for £13 return but it'd also cost £374 on the train to just get to the ferry port. If you live in the right places you can easily get around. Getting out of the UK is like me asking if you've left Europe. Living by an international airport does help now though, still, won't catch me on a budget airline
