1. so... the next album, do we reckon they'll head in a different direction again this time? 'coz so far we've had indie rock, americana and synthpop on their first 3 respectively, so they seem to have a trend of adding a new slant to their sound every new record.

EDIT: sorry sergio, didn't see your post immediately before mine! i think the only weak track on HF is "everything's gonna be alright", could never get into it. all of the others could have been singles and have done well, imo.
  2. hahahaha, I've bumped this around 10 seconds before you did
  3. haha! no such thing as too much enthusiasm i suppose
  4. Is there any news about when they are going to make a new album?
  5. Everything Is Gonna Be Alright is weak but it was much like Goonight, Travel Well on Day&Age: a weak but relaxed closer. I dislike more tracks like Andy or Believe Me Natalie, with the potential for being great songs with without being it. Natalie could belong to Day&Age perfectly (hence my disliking, specially those horns!), and Andy could have been a great frenzy indie hit but never achieved liftoff (musically, I mean).
  6. That would be a cool show.

If I'm right The Killers are going to make a album right? Not Brandon Flowers alone again?
  7. yeah, GNTW is their worst track ever imo.

i've grown to like day and age, it's a fun pop album with some genuinely great tracks on it (This Is Your Life, Spaceman etc) but i don't know, there's just something missing on it, that i can't put my finger on, that stops it from being up there with the other two.
  8. Yes, Bart, apparently they were going to reunite this year in order to prepare a new album, but no dates or confirmation have been given. It was confirmed by Dave and Brandon so I take it as a fact. But there have been no further news.
  9. apparently the killers played their first show of the year a few days ago in Chile:

    http://www.nme.com/news/the-killers/55867

    the setlist was as follows:

    'For Reasons Unknown'
    'This Is Your Life'
    'Somebody Told Me'
    'Smile Like You Mean It'
    'Bones'
    'Losing Touch'
    'Bling'
    'Shadowplay'
    'Spaceman'
    'Human'
    'A Dustland Fairytale'
    'Read My Mind'
    'Mr Brightside'
'All These Things That I've Done'
    'Change Your Mind'
'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine'
    'When You Were Young'

so don't worry guys, the reunion is already underway.

Some of the tracks intended to sound too "full" and ended up sounding too "empty". This Is Your Life is a good example IMO. The chorus "Waaaait for something beeeeetter..." is so epic and mind-blowing, but the verses (and their sound) is so power-lacking. The full-synth songs are the best part of the album, Spaceman, Human, The World That We Live In, Dustland Fairytale (this could perfectly belong to Sam's Town)...

Oh, and Forget About What I Said is on their Top 10 Ever for me. Fucking great song, it sounds soooooo Hot Fuss-ish, so indie, so sad but also so powerful... I wonder why did they relegate it to the disgraceful position of a Bonus Track. Bastards.
  11. WOW!! I didn't know about the Chile show but you're right!

Here's the start of the show:
