1. Thought it might be fun to have one thread to post fans playing U2 songs? Tribute Edge's and otherwise.

    First up...

I found this video of Even Better Than The Real Thing (360 tour version) on YouTube.

it looks pretty close to how The Edge is playing it. Not sure who the guy is... just happened across the video. Nice editing job with real U2 and his playing.

This is what the guy said he used to play / record it:

Gear used: Ibanez AFS75 -- Line6 M13 (smart harmony, pitch glide, screamer, dig dly w mod) -- Vox AC30

    Recording/Mixing: Shure SM57, Cubase5

  2. That's brilliant, just getting into the oul' shifters myself.
  3. Check these... "Zooropa" and "Some Days Are Better..." It's Mick from Unforgettable Fire (from NY)

    Zooropa

All of Mick's clips are amazing and inspiring. BTW, he had the Tele with the Gretsch FilterTron pickups in it before Bono.

  4. This guy, u2john316 always gets the tone spot on for every U2 song. He's fantastic. Although, he does blabber alot.

  5. It may sound like blabber, but to a guitar player, the first half is often more enjoyable than the music itself...I'm more interested in his pedals, settings, how he looped things, etc than I am listening to him play a song.

Though that was INCREDIBLE....how/what/who/when is he getting that awesome shimmer background with that pedal he's working, and why is it sounding IDENTICAL to the Zoo DVD...Godlike.
  6. This guys a pretty good Edge tribute player:

  7. Don't hate! Hahahahaha...

Hey, he earns more money and has a cooler job than most (if not all) of us do.

Do people pay to see you work? Do people clap when you show up to work? Just sayin', Coldplay isn't everyone's cup of tea but... no need to hate.
