1. i was just reading on Bon Jovi and i noticed that Jon Bon has been inducted into the Song Writing Hall Of Fame with about 400 other people, i then looked thinking Bono was definitely going to be in there... i looked, and he wasn't.

    how can this be?
surely the B-man is one of the 400 greatest song writers to ever have graced this planet?
so how come he's not in there?
  2. Whats more puzzling is how come jon bon jovi IS included
  3. There's some odd choices in there.

Diane Warren? That's not an odd choice, that's just a bad choice. No Jim Steinman or Desmond Child? Rigged, obviously.
  4. Maybe there's a criteria that you can't be as active as Bono is, or have to have released songs for a longer time or something? Or an age limit.

    Or maybe it's just shit.

  5. Jon absolutely has written some very good lyrics/songs (:

But most of those lists suck (:

  6. 'coz until about three years ago he was still churning out quality tunes.

he isn't/wasn't better than bono, though.
  7. yeah it's just odd that Bono isn't in there...
    confounds me
  8. I don't care who they choose... we know Bono is pure poetry.
  9. Bono should be in this songwriters hall of fame thing for all of Achtung Baby and Zooropa.

  10. Five years ago. Still, Jon has written some excellent lyrics (and no, not that ridiculous Livin' On A Prayer shit). Bono's a better lyricist overall.

a better lyricist overall is a vast understatement
bono blows him out of the water
can't even put the two in the same sentence

Never put both in the same sentence.

Considering they're both in different genres, their writing is bound to be different. BJ is 'pop metal' and U2 are 'rock'. Diane Warren in there is something I'll never get over. Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Jim Steinman, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jim Morrison, Axl Rose, Steven Tyler, David Gilmour, Bon Scott...?
