    NLOTH is a very good album, as are ATYCLB and HTDDAB. There should be no fear nor shame if NLOTH didn't set the world ablaze. There is a lot of great music there. For those that 'get it', fine. For those that don't, fine.

    Same thing happened with Pop and to some extent, Rattle And Hum... and they began to bad talk and disown both records.

    If you want to have the indie cred of your youth... approach it that way. Make music for you and not the Grammy's or sales. And don't worry about the charts.

    People have come around and love Zooropa more today than when released. This seems to be proven by how many flipped out on Sunday when they finally played it.

    The same can be said of POP. Many have been begging for MOFO and Discotheque for 360 tour. Maybe not appreciated as they should have been at the time, Zooropa and Pop are seem far more loved now than when released...

    ...five years from now folks will be begging "why don't they play "Unknown Caller", "Breathe"....and why didn't they EVER play "Stand Up Comedy" live.


    I'm already thinking, "why don't the play Breathe and No Line On The Horizon". Those were two songs I would have like to listen to in the show I attended. I think they have the energy to make the crowd chant
    And I have to say, I was really tired of GOYB, to the point of haiting it lol, but when I listened to it live, my opinion changed. I enjoyed it a lot.

    Not a hard question but I was surprised that the poster was from The Joshua Tree!
  3. Bono really worries me sometimes. Where's that 'we might lose some pop kids, but we don't need them anyway' attitude?

    Don't do it for public, do it for yourself, the way you like it. You'll lose some fans, but you'll get new.


  4. It's not unfinished, that's just urban legend between U2 fans. As an artist, I can buy a paper and draw one line over it and say it's finished. But I can also draw two lines. Will that make first artwork unfinished? No, because it's piece of art.

    Same thing with Pop. That album is perfect.

  7. Haha, pretty funny thing just happened. Opened up Youtube and went to check Lady Gaga´s new song (?) "Judas" for no reason. Just then I noticed that one of the ads in the video was for Britney Spears´ new song "Till the World Ends"... are they being inspired by Until The End Of The World?

    Well, actually according to the band, they were forced to release the album before they really fine-tuned the songs. Bono said, "If we'd just had another month, we could have finished it." In that way, it was an unfinished record because their vision of it was not realized. They sort of corrected that on the singles released for the album because they had more time to work on them (they were done throughout the PopMart tour).

    i think regardless of the album being finished or not in the band's eyes, it is a masterpiece of sorts

    Later in the evening, U2 guitarist The Edge belted out karaoke-style versions of Bowie's 'Let's Dance' and The Stones' 'Miss You'.
