    I believe they did right in forbidding him to go, because I'm sure it was a political move... in the sense that I do believe he's in favor of those who planned such a disgracefull attack...
    if you read a little about his visit, he's kind of a new man... LOL !!! trying to separate himself of his own declarations when he was back home...
    that's what I believe... so for me, it wasn't real... and obviously the logistical nightmare for the security measures that should be taken if they allowed him to go, I can only imagine the mess and ofcourse the possible reaction of New Yorkers, that have allready expressed they're not happy about the visit....

    Well, I think that the forbidding wasn't good at all, because it's the pllace of a general sadness and sorrow. Anyway, i understand WHY they did forbid him to go, and... I wouldn't have done it. But I respect Bush and Giuliani.

    Yes, but I sincerely believe that since it is a place of gneral sadness and sorrow I think it may be disrespectfull, for those who mourn the loss of a dear one on the 9/11 events...
    I believe it's a very sharp issue... there are valid opinions o both's sides...

    It is...
    there are massive protests on Myanmar... And some analists are talking about a possible revolution or some kind of big breakthrough or confrontation between the armed forces and the civilians if things keep going as have been so far...

    1. I don't really think that Ahmadinejad or the Iranian government supports Al Qaeda...maybe Hamas or Hezbollah, but Al Qaeda has problems with iran, he (Bin Laden) has declared Iranians (and the government) infidels and enemies...

    2. He SAID he wanted to go to "ground zero" to express his sadness about the issue...I don't know what he really wanted!

    3. The Columbia speech was pretty embarrassing tho...first of all I had never seen a president so insulted by a university president (which makes me sad...to see our country has fallen so low )
    and second of all...that "homosexuals" comment by Ahmadinejad

    Ali709, I was really waiting for you to appear... glad you could post in this matter...

    in response I should say:
    1. I had no idea that there where issues between Al Qaeda and the Iranian government, I'm sorry, I have to admit that I assumed that there might be a connection between both...

    2. I'm sure we will never know... I have to say that, also in this comment I made, if there's no connection between Iran's Gov. and Al Qaeda my comment is of no meaning then...

    3. About the Columbia's speech... I have to agree with you, I never saw this kind of treatment at a University or at least heard of something like it. and I have to agree that it was a low hit from the University's president to do such a thing. Ahmadinejad should have known that was going to happen... the only reason I can think of, is that he was deceived in order to attend the conference, becouse normally before accepting or even going there should be an Intelligence reaserch to know if going is such a good idea as it was in the beggining...

    And well, I don't really have that much knowledge about what is going on at Iran.. I might have a slight idea about Ahmadinejad through the little that I have managed to read or hear...
