1. Alcohol is bad for the the voice, dries it out We all know what happened with Bono's voice after Zoo TV.

I have now listened to your new clip, and I liked it too I'd like to hear some recording where your voice is really in shape, I imagine it could be cool.
  2. That last note was fucking hard to keep like that. I record all the time so there's bound to be more when my throat's in better shape than it is now.

As you can tell I'm not trained in any way but I just go with it and see how it comes out. It's what happens when you just let yourself go and see if your voice can handle something like that - which that one it can. I was actually pretty impressed with it.

Bono's got a nice voice and I think how it is now works a lot better for the songs they're doing. On tour it's fantastic - he manages to hit the high notes in Bad!

He took voice lessons with Pavarotti's coach 2002 something I heard. Thank god for that, Elevation was pretty horrible.

His voice is so good now!
  4. Popmart he was shocking on - Sarajevo being the worst. Luckily most nights the performances were so memorable you didn't mind so much. Then again, it was live and you've gotta be expecting that. I'd have loved to have gone to a Popmart show just for Please alone.

Elevation had some great performances too but it was shot. Even in Buenos Aires on the Vertigo Tour, during All I Want Is You - just totally gone but hell, that was one beautiful ending. On NLOTH his voice really just is right up there again, the best it's been since Zoroopa.

Wonderful voice now but how long he can keep it like that is another question. Maybe giving it a rest for three years really worked wonders, and not rushing out the album. It's a good album (NLOTH) for that reason and the vocals and everything on it are U2's best since Pop. Even with ATYCLB I can only listen to maybe three songs and then turn it off (Wild Honey, Peace On Earth and When I Look At The World).

I just tried singing along to No Line and I can't do it. My voice wavers in and out badly - which means either it needs a rest or those notes the other night doing those kinds repeatedly for a few hours two night in a row may have killed it for the moment. So when it gets better and doesn't waver, I should be good for something really difficult. Objects In The Rear View Mirror, I think.
  5. No Line is really hard!

  6. Is it ever. I can't get past the first line - that's how hard it is. No more for the moment otherwise my voice is gonna be fucked up badly. I usually test my voice by doing a high-pitched scream. If I can do that with no problems and no strain, then I'm good.
  7. I intend to record something... not sure what.
  8. Can't Help Falling In Love ZooTV style... maybe I'll go for it? Probably a really bad idea though.

  9. I'd love to hear that actually - if you've got the kinda voice I'm thinking you'd sound good on it.
  10. I'll try... actually I just tried but started singing Spanish Eyes instead...
  11. Hey hey lala lala here she comes...

    I love that song.

  12. Then I shouldn't upload that at least... I don't know the lyrics I just have some made up lyrics in my head.
