1. Something a bit different.

Me and a friend went on a late-night jaunt around Adelaide here in Australia and saw a whole bunch of various musicians (some very good by the way) playing at about 1.30am. Are there any buskers, street musicians etc you've seen around that you thought were good?

First off, we have the keyboard genius:

Next up is a bit of a newbie (well, to me at least) to Adelaide. A flute player, not your typical one either.

Last but not least, Homeless Hendrix. This is talent. Hendrix would be proud.

  2. Madrid is quite full of buskers and street musicians, specially on the underground and stuff. Some of them are awesomely good and some are very poor - yesterday I saw a guy who was singing rap over a horribly distorted backing track...
  3. Oh, and I once saw a guy in the subway who was playing One (by U2) on acoustic guitar... I asked if he could play In God's Country and damn hell, he did. I sang with him the whole song and later payed him 5€ - true story. I did a video of it but lost it some time. I have seen him some other times, always playing excellent stuff like Oasis, U2 or The Beatles. Classic guy.
  4. There is a guy in the city centre of Edinburgh in a street just behind Princes Street who always plays The Verve and Oasis. He always plays Lucky Man by The Verve. He once repeatedly played it. Like, I was in a shop, and before I went in, he was playing Lucky Man and when I got out 15 minutes later, he was still playing Lucky Man. I go down the street later on, and he's still playing Lucky Man! It's fair to say that he was pretty good at playing it.
  5. in the summer of 2009 I saw a young guy in Temple Bar / Dublin covering U2 songs. Being critical when it comes to my favorite boys, I must say he was really really good. Talked to him later and he was a nice guy. I shot a video of him, I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

I will probably take my guitar to Dublin so I might be able to join them
  10. There was a guy playing Comfortably Numb today at the underground, electric guitar + voice. I joined him harmonizing on the chorus, just because I had nothing else to do until my friends arrived to the station. After CN, he played a song that rang a bell on my mind but I can't remember how was it called, it was a Rolling Stones tune. Great guy. He thanked me for joining ^^
  11. I used to love busking back in the day. I highly recommend it for any performer.
  12. This thread has made me feel like trying busking someday, just for fun
