I just woke up. I'm eager to watch/hear the Disco&Please snippets. Otherwise, normal setlist, it was to be hoped. I really think they might unveil Staring At The Sun or even a full Discotheque in the upcoming shows...

    Here's the remixed Magnificent:

  2. Well, they butchered Magnificent.

But that Discotheque snippet was too awesome!

    Zooropa.
  3. When Edge plays the Discoteque riff!! Magic (:
  4. from what i have seen from the videos Bono sounds really really good!!

the U2Gigs video of With or Without You is great by the B-man... 2nd chorus he holds the "i cant lllliiiiiiiiiiivvvvvveee" part really well..been a while i think since he's held the note i reckon

But wasn't U2 a band that "doesn't look at the past but at the future" ?

That was a lie. U2 took both the Pop Tour and the 360 Tour on similar routes. They start out
with a bang, playing a lot from the new albums, and then get too focused on the charts and how well the albums sold, and slowly limit the new songs from the setlist. For Pop they quickly got rid of Do You Feel Loved, and Angels, and on 360 They only play Magnificent, Boots, and Surrender now. I can't count the Crazy Remix, as it has turned from a Walk On cousin to a tribute song to Pop. Why can't they just play something from Pop?

  7. Not really feeling this whole Magnificent remix at all. It's a rock show, not a disco club. Stick to the two you've already got- one of which is even decent anymore.

Other than that, from what I've seen, looks to be a pretty decent show. Stuck appearance doesn't really matter since it didn't kick any songs out for the slot- glad they went long last night.
  8. Bono has said that "Stay" was "...the best song they've ever written."

Why the f**k don't they perform it then? It's way better than "Stuck" or any other acoustic track they play.

    I disagree.
I think Staring at the Sun (acoustic) is better than Stay. Stay needs to be played full band

Also, after watching Crazy Tonight/Discotheque/Please, I think that Crazy Tonight --> Discotheque could work really well. But I wouldn't drop Crazy Tonight for Discotheque.
  10. Had so much fun at the gig. Bono definitely messed up Magnificent, forgot the chorus.
  11. Hypothesis: Magnificent has Desmond Tutu so the band can stop playing One.
  12. omg Magnificent is atrocious
