  1. Not really conflictive, but there is alot of poverty there, I believe. Alot of people don't have jobs and you see quite a few people on the street in sleeping bags begging. I remember going to Dundee once with my Dad and I specifically remember there being no bus shelters - reason for that is people destroying the plastic-glass of the bus shelters, so they just have poles instead which tell you what buses stop at that stop.

    Of course, there are some nice parts of Dundee, not alot, but not as much as Edinburgh or Aberdeen.

    Actually, put this way - The only good things that have came out of Dundee are The View and Like A Song being played once. And they are the ONLY good things.


    LOL. A good friend of mine comes from Dundee. She's never mentioned it being particularly horrific.

    Dundee has the highest rate of unemployment of all Scotland's cities.

    Dundee's rate of dependency on social security benefits is second only to Glasgow's.

    The value of property in Dundee is particularly low.

    In its social relationships, Dundee has major problems of exclusion.

    Dundee has the highest out-migration rate of all Scottish cities. Young adults are leaving the city to find work.

    Dundee has the second highest rate of teenage pregnancy in Scotland, and 50% more single parents than the Scottish average. Nearly a quarter of Dundee's children live in lone parent households.

    Dundee has important social problems: low educational attainment, high rates of absence from school, high crime figures.

    Today it's golf time. First time ever for "Sunday Golf" on the club. Mainly it's to get the juniors that can't go out on their own on the course. So, it's juniors, some parents, and the club pro. It will be fun... I'll be playing with two of those juniors that aren't good enough to go out on their own, so I need to be someone to look up a bit too. And hopefully a friend will join or group.
