1. Oh my... that is disgusting. Yellow card? One year suspension more like.

  2. Regardless, you just just can't throw that much force into a head height challenge. He was behind his man and in no position to make a challenge like that.
  3. I agree with you all that it is a horrible tackle but I think the player didnt want to hit and hurt him
  4. Rugby players get banned for less, anybody with sense would give that a ban. Accident or not he's still responsible for it
  5. If it was his intention I'd go to court for attemt of murder instead of heavy assault

Of course he didnt want to do this, but this is just a terrible action either case.

  6. Then you don't put your boot in his face. Even if he managed to make contact with the ball, he was still going to connect heavily with the other players face or chest.

    Soccer players arent that smart
Lets hope the player will recover and that this doesnt mean the end of his career.
  8. best wishes for the injured and wishes not to see the field for a loooooooooooooooong time for the beast

  9. High boot, he shoulda been sent off and now receive a ban. u cant go round lifting ur foot that high
  10. Pretty much an automatic yellow card in the premier league anyway for rasing your foot into a challenge, the ref should've have waited to make his decision and made it based on the seriousness of the injury caused.

The red card could then have been extended by the Belgian FA if they deemed it necessary. Quite difficult to issue bans after the game when the referee has already made his decision as the referee's decision should be final.
  11. at least in Italy if the referee sees and decides the tv evidence doesn't count
