1. Moment of Surrender, opera in Miss Sarajevo, NYD, they play a lot of songs with pretty high parts. I'd say Bono's high register is in its best shape since the early days.
  2. So you all say NYD/Vertigo/SBS/Streets/MoS is comparable to Lemon/Daddy's Gonna Pay/Msterious Ways ZooTV singing-wise Ok, but I disagree. Imo the songs you mention aren't as high as eg Lemon at all, but I must be wrong then.

EDIT : to (try yo) prove my argument, listen to EBTTRT, Edge sings "Even Better Than The Real Thing" high, Bono avoids it and sings it in a lower key...
  3. Listen to the last L'Amoure in MS or the "say it's true..." part in NYD instead.
  4. And remember how Bono sang the "Under a blood red sky..." part of NYD on Zoo TV before you make one line or one verse the example

  5. I really don't get this, sing it out loud yourself, you'll use a waaay other voice for both...
The opera part is, well, opera, and comes from very deep. (therefore it's not less impressive)
While Lemon is falsetto and will almost destroy your troath.
I really can't see how you can argue with that

Well therefore it is just an example, right ?
And it was about the 360-versions of EBTTRT, hope you knew that.
And the point was that he tries to avoid high notes from ZooTV era, which is only normal.
  6. Look, last thing I'm going to say about this cause I don't really see the point of it

    Listen to this again

Now, do you REALLY, I mean really really really think that the way he sings here is the same as NYD/Vertigo/SBS/Miss Sarajevo ?

Sorry, but then you must be nuts or I must be completely deaf

And if some of you believe he is still able to perform a whole song like that, good for you, but I really doubt it.
  7. I wasn't saying that it was the same as Lemon, you didn't make that clear. You actually talked about EBTTRT, and I argued with that. Apparently when you said high notes, you meant falsetto. His falsetto was better on ZooTV, but it's now probably the best it's been after ZooTV and I think there's at least a chance that he could pull off Lemon. For example, on some rehearsals of North Star he has sung the last verse in falsetto, also one time live I think

His high modal register is now probably better than ZooTV, he strained a lot more on ZooTV when singing Bad than he does now for example.

Oh, and by the way, I have no problem with singing the falsetto in Lemon

  8. Listen to 1:47 and explain what's so high there? :? Edge perhaps?

The discussion began with Lemon so that's why I was aiming for that
But ok probably there was some misunderstanding cause I didn't said falsetto, sorry for that.

  10. Haha, this could go on for ages
You misunderstood me I think, I had a clip of the 360-version of EBTTRT in my head and Edge sings the high notes (as he almost always does), but Bono doesn't.
You are correct about the fact that Bono didn't sing "Even Better Than The Real Thing" high in the past either though.
Btw, listen to 2:58, that's what I'm thinking of when I say high/falsetto.
He just shouts that out now.
  11. i just wrote a long post explaining that falsetto/bright and high is not the same. But it disappeared Listen to the wide awakes of bad from zoo dublin for example, those are the same note. Therefore you can't use these words as the same.

And the falsetto of Lemon is not that high in tone. Just bright.
  12. Back on topic...

Something I'd love to see on this leg, just to see what it would be like over 20 years later, is God Part II. That would be exciting to hear what it would actually sound like.

But, if there is going to be an addition - I'd say something from Achtung Baby. As much as I want The Fly (since it's almost my favourite U2 song), I cannot see it being in this leg. I'm thinking Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World, frankily. But there's me hoping that they remember that rehearsal in Turin where they did actually play it. Also, that Crazy/Discotheque medley might even turn into Crazy and Discotheque being two separate full songs, which would be awesome.
