    Warwick makes great bass guitars.

    Vintage Fender's are great.

Dean guitars and bass guitars, are in my view, substandard at best.

The theoretical next step from a Squier is a Fender. You could go for a mexican standard Jazz Bass or Precision Bass, or go for a Highway One bass (again, either Jazz or Precision) or full out American standard.

Seeing as how you have around 800 bucks to spend, if you're looking for the next step after a Squier, i'd say check out the Highway Ones:

Other than that, there's literally hundreds of basses you could choose from, that's where research and the help of others around here (I don't know much about basses) can come in!

have fun searching for your next instrument!

Thanks! I think I´m gonna do some research, but will probably wait a little while and save more money! Thanks again!

  4. My view is that it is better to hold off, do research, save and get what you want instead of something just for now or what you can merely afford for now.

By buying 'what I can afford for now', chances are that it won't be what you want, it won't inspire you to play and if it isn't quality to begin with, it will be hard to sell to upgrade later.
  5. In the recent, sort of recent, youtube interview of Dallas Schoo, many saw a Red Witch pedal on top of the rack and had questions as to the model.

A few emailed Red Witch... and Ben Fulton from Red Witch replied... His answer? It is indeed a standard Red Witch Fuzz God 2.

    Mystery solved.
  6. Here's a few clips of Adam playing the candy apple red Reverso. That bass looks stunning!

Out of Control - May 14th - Mexico City

Even Better Than The Real Thing - May 15 - Mexico City

    Magnificent - May 15 - Mexico City
  7. D'ya know which bass was he using for Even Better Than The Real Thing before the candy red Warwick?
  8. Hi guys!

I have a question about an effect Edge uses.
Now, to be honest, I don't know all the guitar-lingo so I'll try to describe it as good as possible

I'm looking for a pedal that can create the sound Edge had during the vertigo-tour at the beginning of COBL (the extended intro)...I don't know if that sound has a name or not, but is there a single pedal that can create this?

    thanks in advance!

(btw, does anyone know if there's a picture of Edge with his collection of guitars? and I don't mean the one with the guitars in cases).

Not sure if a photo like that exists. If it does, I haven't seen it yet (and support your search).

This is the closest you can get, Edge plus a few guitars under the 360 stage in Barcelona:
  10. Sure others can give more details about speciphic models, but what Edge uses to achieve that sound is a shimmer pedal
  11. Thanks Like A Song!

I'll wait and see if anyone knows any specific model types.

I think I have a picture of Edge around somewhere where he's looking at a large row of guitars, I'll look for it.
