1. apparently achtung baby shirts are being sold this tour... so odds are the re-release/remaster is coming!!

  2. I will buy one of those AB shirts....$40 well spent!
  3. i honestly think with all the rehearsals of AB songs etc. that they might be planning of re-recording the album... or releasing a live version of the album... hopefully song of the bonus material is the AB songs played live this tour
  4. Re-record it?
The album is a masterpiece as it is!

Leave it and don't desecrate it!
Unless you plan to play Acrobat + The Fly + Love Is Blindness on tour

+1 But a deluxe edition with, among other things, some live 360 versions of LIB and other songs wouldn't hurt!

While I agree with this, I actually think a majority of the songs deserve live renditions or modifications, much like how the Please single was redone to sound more like the live version.

    - Zoo Station deserves a live version from the Vertigo Tour, similar to that released in Window In The Skies.
    - The Fly also deserves a Vertigo Tour rendition. The band has said that they finally got it right during that tour.
    - Even Better Than The Real Thing has never sounded better than it has been during the couple 360 Tour shows it was played at.
    - Until The End Of The World definitely deserves a live rendition, especially since I consider the album version and the live version to be two different songs.

So if they decide to release a live album in addition to the re-release of Achtung Baby, it should include:
    - Zoo Station from the Vertigo Tour
    - The Fly from the Vertigo Tour
    - Even Better Than The Real Thing from the 360 Tour
    - Until The End Of The World from any tour Elevation and beyond
  7. They have so much material for the remaster version of AB, more than they had for any release up to now! How are they going to do to fit it all in a couple of CD´s? I think that, unfortunately, some of the great stuff is gonna be left out...

    - Left overs, early versions for Zooropa, early versions of Achtung Baby and the Hansa Studios Tape.
    - Great live footage from the ZOOTV.
    - Many versions played live in different times and different tours.
    - Documentary + all they are doing now.

I know they had some of this kind of things for other releases and didn´t put it in them. But AB is different, it´s songs got a lot of rework, there are the famous Hansa Studio Tapes, the story of songs that turned into others, the lead up to Zooropa... it´s gonna be tough!

I´m dreaming, but I´d love something like this:

    CD 1 - AB remastered
CD 2 - Unreleased and B-Sides (Heaven and Hell, Laughing In The Face Of Love, Take You Down, One from the promo tapes, the 3 different Until The End Of The World, Sinatra (early version of stay written in Berlin), studio versions of the reworked songs played live (EBBTTR, The Fly, Zoo Station,One with MJB, UTEOTW), etc...
CD 3 - AB Live with the best versions of each song.
DVD 1 - Documentary + AB played live today
    DVD 2 - Washington show (?)
  8. i reckon if they do do a remaster (which looks likely), it'll be a 2 CD and 1 DVD package, as per usual.

one being the actual album, one being outtakes and one live show/documentary.

Wow no. You said it yourself, the live versions and the album versions are two different songs, so I don't think we need a whole re-record simply because of that. When they said they finally got it right on the vertigo tour, they meant the live version. Live it's never sounded like it does on the recorded version, and that's because the recorded version is something special all on its own. Same goes with all of the other tracks. It'd be neat to get a second album with live versions, but not just a complete re-record, I feel like as it's the 20th anniversary we should get a re-release of the same album we're celebrating, not anything less.
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I prefer the Elevation Tour version of "The Fly" to the versions played on other tours. I have a soft spot for the "sports hall" intro. Maybe they could add it to the Vertigo version and play it that way for the remainder of the 360 tour.

I'm not too sure which I'd prefer: Stockholm or Washington (how 'bout BOTH!) - or something else. It should be from 1992, however, so no Dublin 1993. That show already sounds fantastic, anyway.

OR a show that we've never seen before? Something new.
