1. I discovered some great (to me unknown) songs from the seventies and eighties these last couple of weeks. They all give you this sort of 'yay, it's great to be alive, let's go out and have fun'-feeling

    teenage wasteland ( aka Baba O’Riley) (The Who)
    a New England (Billy Brag)

    Totally different than U2 but nevertheless great songs. I know there's like a zillion songs out there I'd probably love but I simply don't know them.
    What song totally makes your day when you here it unexpectedly on the radio?

    China Crisis (Wishful Thinking etc)

    .........all 80's boss tunes.But if you can try an get my personal favourite of that era,other than U2,........The Lotus Eaters - The First Picture Of You.

  6. Fleetwood Mac- Never Going Back Again, The Chain, You Make Loving Fun, I'm So Afraid...all of Fleetwood Mac, No one can go against the fact Lindsey Buckingham is a genius, that literately reinvented the way the guitar was played and also the guitar itself.

    All of Paul Simon, bob dylan...

    I gotta go through my 10+ thousand song library and get the specifics.

    They`re really great IMO. They were a great band at the medium eighties.
