1. Here's a picture of Edge with some of his guitars, only one I have:

Credits go to who made the wallpaper, I have NO idea where I got it from.
  2. Due to all my post my original question mights be overlooked:

Does anyone know which pedal I could get for the shimmer sound at the beginning of the Vertigo-Live version of COBL?

    Thanks!
  3. I think in terms of stomp box type pedals most people will suggest the Line 6 Verbzilla probably...however I thought I read somewhere that it was actually reverse delay for that intro...i'm confused myself

You can get the exact sound from the Line 6 Verbzilla, using the Octo setting on the pedal. There are plenty of demos on YouTube

It's actually a mixture of a bunch of things, including reverse delay, shimmer, mod delay, and probably some reverb.

But yeah the Line 6 Verbzilla will get you pretty much there, (to the guy who originally asked), about 85% of the sound is shimmer alone. The rest of it is for the huge fanatics that need it exactly on par! But yeah the shimmer alone will do just fine.

    thanks for that!

Well, I'll have to save money for a Verbzilla then!
  7. I heard back from Warwick and this is the Warwick bass guitars that Adam owns:

    Adam has:

    2x Warwick Starbasses 4string Goldtop
    2x Warwick Reversos natural
    1x Warwick Reversos Gold
1x Warwick Reversos Gold reversed headstock
1x Warwick Reversos Gold with woods like Stryker Ziricote
1x Warwick Reversos Candy apple red
1x Streamer Gold Metalflake Brandenburg Gate
1x Streamer 4 string Neckthrough Birdseye Maple

I asked about the Streamer used for "Electrical Storm" in Barcelona and was told:

...the bass you are requesting was tryout gear. I think we sent
him 12 different basses and models over in this time for try out
that he can find out what he likes…

So it seems the black Stryker and the Buzzard, both seen in U2.com footage during the making of NLOTH, were on loan.

And then there were the Reverso proto-types. That is the story thus far.
  8. Gotta love the sight and sound of that 1966 Fireglo Rickenbacker 330 13-string on "Even Better Than The Real Thing".

Denver show was fantastic. These shots were from the May 24 show in Salt Lake City

  9. That pics are real killers, Jeff. You were really close to the action once again

  10. The pics of Edge and the Ric were not mine. But I was that close for the Denver shows.

And hopefullly will be close up for some of the other shows I am attending.

  11. That picture, if memory serves, was in Propaganda and dates back to 2000 era, from around the time of the recording of ATYCLB

Not all of those are Edge's, I see some bass guitars... that acoustic up front is Adam's acoustic bass. There are other pics of Adam with that bass, in Propaganda, around the same era.

  12. Yep, that's the bass he used for the Sweetest Thing videoclip, isn't it? And a nice one it is

Which other shows will you attend this summer, Jeff?
