1. Just sound like that person had a shitty day and couldn't enjoy themselves. I'm almost done listening to th show and thoughts it's fantastic... That reviewer just sounds like an overly-critical twit.
I can't belive how many people here can't stand "casual" fans. Not everyone is a die hard fan of every band.

I actually went to see Jane's Addiction after the album "Strays" came out. Guess what? I hardly know any of their non-hits.

*edit: After reading more of his blog posts, yeah, that guy sucks.

They don't hang still or change of colours do they ?

Must be Bob Dylan in a Muse-satellite to listen to U2's happy b-day tribute.

Since I'm almost a pilot and I love planes, I have a descent knowledge about flying objects and I can tell this is no a plane or a helicopter.

Another point: I have friends who fly almost every day and reports of something like this are very common.

So yeh, I think our intergalactic friends came to see our intergalactic boys playing

    No, he does NOT suck.

I know Cathal, he's one of the most loyal, dedicated and also enthusiastic fans and supporters of the band. He has been to hundreds of shows and, unlike many other fans who only complain about U2 these days, he still manages to have a lot of love and enthusiasm for the band and their performances. From all the reviews I've seen from him, he's always trying to focus on the positive stuff. For SLC, he obviously had a bad day, but if you read his review in detail, you'll see that the audience seemed to be very flat and not into the show at all. U2 are always as good as their audience. It must be extremely frustrating for the band to play in front of a lame crowd. I sometimes think about how well received the shows were in South America and Mexico, and how great the crowds were. It makes me sad to think that most US audiences - and I'm really trying not to generalize here - are not really great. That's the reason why I don't want to watch the Rose Bowl DVD. It saddens me to think they should have filmed the three Mexico shows for a new DVD. Mexican crowds were amazing, and the band was amazing, too, because they draw from the energy that comes from the audience. I'm glad I live in Europe and have been able to go to many shows where the atmosphere was really great. I don't want to bash the US fans and I know that there are certainly many exceptions here, but from all the reviews I've read since the tour started two years ago, I (and many others, too) have come to the conclusion, that US audiences aren't that enthusiastic.

That said, I wish U2 came back to Europe for a couple of shows, but I'm afraid that won't happen any time soon.

Reaction of Paul McGuinness : "I don't care if they're from Salt Lake City or another galaxy, If they're not paying, they're not welcome."
