1. Hmm, I think Horsens may take the honours for that one.
  2. I was (pleasantly) surprised when I heard that Winnipeg got U2 play in their city. However, I presume that many of the people in attendance will be driving up from the north/central states as opposed to the crowd being mainly from Manitoba (and Thunder Bay, ON).

  3. Where did you hear that?

Horsens had around 35,000 for each night, while Salt Lake City's stadium, Rice-Eccles Stadium holds about 45,000, so it can't have been the smallest.
  4. not the right topic .. but it's always Canada

Magnetic Hill prepped to play host to U2 stage

Preparations are underway at the Magnetic Hill Concert Site to accommodate the massive stage for the July 30 concert by Irish superstars U2. The steel structure is 27 metres (90 feet) tall with the centre pylon reaching 45 metres (150 feet) tall. The structure will take four days to build.

  5. Interesting rehersal news from Winnipeg according to U2 gigs

"So U2 rehearsed yesterday in the rented theatre. Mostly Achtung: EBTTRT, The Fly multiple times, LIB, 1, MW, UTEOTW, Mag, HMTM, STreets, Ele"

Maybe some more AB songs in the setlist - but I guess more likely for Glasto, The Fly though is made for the 360 stage, and would love LIB to make an appearance

  6. Man, 360 just keeps getting better and better. Even if they aren't going to be played on a 360 show I love how the band is thinking right now. Playing all these epic songs

    Let's do an inventory...

    - UTEOTW, MW, One, UV, and EBTTRT have been played (recently)
    - The Fly and LiB have been rehearsed...
    - So we need: Zoo Station, WGRYWH, TTTYAATW, So Cruel, and Acrobat

One has to understand that this (AB) is one of the greatest albums of all-time (yes, I am baised but many would agree) and it deserves a "proper" reissue treatment - the 360 tour is an opportune avenue for this, Whatever they decide to do, it should be BIG - just like the tour was 20 years ago.
  8. I'm really liking the rehearsals that have been happening. I also think that Achtung Baby will be getting more playtime in the US show simply because I think Achtung Baby was very successful in the US as opposed to Pop, which didn't do so well. Most of the fans here would recognize Achtung Baby songs immediately, so I think it's a very good move on behalf of the band.

And a full remaster of Achtung Baby? Yes please!
