1. How's life, Matt? We haven't talked in a while - surely for longer than our self-proposed weekly-basis PM exchanging

EDIT. Wow, that's one winding sentence now that I read it. Sorry

Hah! Quite a long sentence indeed...spending too much time at that school of yours I reckon

Life's been good...plenty busy. Went to an amusement park yesterday with some friends and rode roller-coasters all day, so I was pretty burnt out last night, but a good night's sleep has gotten me nice and fresh for band practice T-minus one hour until we rock out today!

How have you been? It really has been too long.

And you think you're busy? You have NO IDEA!! I'm in the center of all my big examination period, which started last Thursday and will end on July 1st.
It's really awful because while I know I should study non-stop, I really feel absolutely not keen to do it. It's hot outside, there are plenty of interesting things to do... I feel like crap having myself recluded 16h a day in a library At least we have very good internet connections here, and I can log in every now and then

So you'er going to rehearse today? Well, that's also one of the things I'd like to be doing now ... Don't get me too jealous! What are you going to play, do you have a more or less defined to-rehearse-setlist? And if you do, fancy sharing it?

Oh, trust me, I don't doubt that you're absolutely busier than I am...and my thoughts are with you cramped up in those libraries! It'll pay off, we both know it I PM'd Kieran the setlist yesterday...let me copy/paste it here for you/all the world to see. It's quite large, seeing as how we've got a gig in a few weeks that has us playing in a bar/restaurant for a 3.5 hour timeslot...so we have a lot of tricks up our sleeves! 5. There are some absolute killers over there. Did you eventually figure our the guitar sound for Superstition? haha ... have a good rehearse!!

OK, I gotta go now, should go back to Inorganic Chemistry... Not precisely my favorite way of spending the Saturday's evening, but hey, it'll pay off

I did figure out a great sound for Superstition! And speaking of there being real KILLERS on the setlist...one of the next pitches to add is "All These Things That I've Done" Good luck, my friend! I work tonight but I might be able to check in later and see if you've surrendered to U2Start anymore throughout the day

Yes! It is! In the quote too, damn...

And you shall surely see some video

  9. Good stuff man, hope it goes well. Are you just playing guitar or are you singing too?

Oh, and saw Superstition is in the set. Did you get a guitar sound for it? What settings do you have?

I'm just playing guitar. Singing backup/harmonies, though. And for Superstition I actually found a setting built into my Digitech multi-effect that gave me a really gritty fuzz sound. I kicked up the treble a notch inside the setting, switched to my neck pickups on the guitar, and turned on my Vox wah pedal and left it in that "wah-sweet-spot" to give it a nice element of funk. When I really get into it, I lean back and forth on the wah slightly with the notes in the verse to make them each pop Fun little jam, for sure. I'll see if I can snag any video of the rehearsal today...the bass player won't be there, and he's essential for Superstition, but I'll tape what I can. No promises, but I'll do my best.
  11. From that setlist, your band seems cool. Can you post some vids? Also, if you want to do Gin Blossoms, Til I Hear It from you would be better than Hey Jealousy. Just my opinion.

Not that Hey Jealousy is a bad song by any means.

Original version of Dusted was better though than the one off Les Miserables Experience in my opinion though.
