During a chat with a friend recently, she told me about a U2 show that "was no later than 2002". During the "Sunday, Bloody Sunday", Bono stops 1/2 way through the song and starts to speak about the IRA, violence, countrymen against each other and topics of the like. She got that 1 track a while back in college when Napster was the big thing. Does anyone know of a show done in 2002 or earlier that this track might be from? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to tack it down for a birthday present.
He does that a lot doesn't he? Could be Rattle & Hum, 1987? Or from Slane but can't recall if he rambles in the middle if that or just says all the names during the outro
...could be that one...or the version from the 1987-11-11 'save the yuppies' San Francisco show. During SBS bono interupts the song and goes into his famous rant about two letter....."seeing the letter 'SF being held by a audience memeber, ...(the intention was 'SF' to mean SanFrancisco)... however Bono mistakes the SF to mean Sinn Fein and then goes off on the fan, directing an emotional response back to the crowd...
...on a side note during Pride of the same show (which is the longest version every sung live 8+ min) bono leave the playing area, grabs spray paint and writes ' stop the traffic' on a concrete pillar... (charges latter dropped...)
........ overall this small show is one of my top shows...
