1. I'm new to the site so hello to everyone. u2start seems like a really cool place so far.

I've got this old bootleg picture disc double LP, but can't seem to find information concerning it anywhere. The label says GHENOS Records 005/85/gh 5DP. It says sides U1,U2, and U3 were recorded live during the USA '83 tour, and side U4 recorded live at Hammersmith Palace '84. I've never played it and am wondering if anyone knows the sound quality. Also, what is the name this particular recording is referenced by as it doesn't really have a title on it.
  2. I think you have a bootleg called U2 - President there.

Some of the Live Usa tracks might be from Boston, May 6th 1983. U2 didn't play the Hammersmith Palais in 1984, so this location/date is certainly wrong.
  3. You've got it Yeah! That IS the one. Thanks so much for that. U2-President. That is what I've always referred to it as but wasn't sure. Any idea on the quality? Much thanks to you for the reply.
  4. wow looks cool!

Zola, how about some pics of it?

  5. The picture by Yeah is exactly the one. Sides 1 and 3 share the same pic and sides 2 and 4 the one shown. Each has different insert pics as well. It's seems like a nice product but as stated above, I have always been curios as to the sound quality. Was also wondering if there is a DVD version as I don't play my vinyl stuff anymore. Anyone know?
  6. If YEAH is right, and the tracks are from Boston 1983-05-06, then the sound quality is EXCELLENT.
  7. IF some of the tracks are from that Boston gig and/or IF the CD-bootleg 'President' was mastered from the vinyl bootleg of the same name, you should have a very good broadcast there.
But since I don't have any reliable source info on this, I'm not sure. Maybe someone else knows more.
Commercial bootlegs from that era usually have broadcast/soundboard sound, though.

    Don't think so.
